Apparently, short people are 50% more likely to die from heart disease!
Hmmmm, yeah, great, how exactly am I supposed to rectify that one! LOL!!

I do get sick of all these "studies" showing that such and such causes cancer, and blah blah blah causes heart disease. Does anyone else feel like pretty much EVERYTHING is bad for you these days???

Sorry, not much of a debate, but as I'm only 4ft 11in, this article caught my eye. (though I had to stand on tiptoes to see it. hehehe)

I think people need to stop worrying so much about what is bad for them and just live their lives. Yes, its important to know that proper diet and exercise will help you live longer. Its important to know that smoking kills and tanning beds cause cancer. But really, do we need to know every single correlation between each one of our foods, drinks, or activities and our possible longevity? Personally I don't want to live to be 120 anyway, and I think people should stop striving for immortality and just enjoy life while they're living.

my family is super short, my mother is 4 ft 9in. (and has DD boobies as well, lol), and everybody in my family seems to be having strokes or cancer, never a heart attack though. i'm 5 ft 2in and definitely worried about a stroke.
yeah, i heard that eating toast that is burned a little bit gives you cancer, as does antiperspirant, and cellphones, and not enough sex. i'm screwed!

Well most of the women in my family die in their fifties so im going to enjoy life while i can because ive only got 20 more years of it left. So im going to breathe deeply every time a car goes past, eat beef and risk mad cows disease, be as short as i like and consume as many chemical laden veggies as i want lol.

I knew being 5ft10 was good for something.. it counteracts all the drinking and smoking and bad eating habits :-p And I'm good with the hips thing too so I guess I don't need to worry about the 10 cigarettes I have every day.

Not all smaller people have smaller parts... I once knew a lady who was 4'11" and she had DD's. She was very skinny though. I was never sure how she kept her balance! My mom is only 5'1.5" and she's top heavy too, even when she was much thinner she's always been top heavy. (But she's got a bubble butt, so it evened out, lol.)

Sara, you could always switch to smoking the all natural cigarettes, American Spirits I think they're called. ;)

I'll wager that tall people are more likely to get accidentally knocked over a balcony rail. And if we fall over our heads will hit the concrete harder than yours.

Thanks Amie! I knew I had SOME healthy stuff ;)

Jocelyn, I want to meet your friend so I can be the tall one for once!!!!! :)

OH Cathy you forgot her coffee. That's in there too. It's made out of a bean... can we construe that into a veg for Sarah's sake? LOL!

I squeaked by though! I'm 5'5"... now just need to deal with the hereditary heart issues.

I can see where he's figuring the connection comes in though. Smaller people have smaller parts, so wouldn't that mean smaller arteries? Makes sense to me.

You're only 4'11"? You ARE tiny! You're boob height! (as my lovely little 4'9" best friend Kim likes to say :P lol)

Wouldn't it be ironic if my height was my final downfall rather than my poor diet and smoking!
Point taken Cathy :(

Yeah, I heard about that study, and yes, everything is bad for you these days....

If you go in the sun you get cancer, if you use sunblock you get cancer and vitamin D deficiency, if you stay inside, you go mad and suffer vitamin D deficiency, if you smoke you get cancer or heart disase, if you breathe someone else's smoke, you get cancer or heart disease, if you eat your vegetables, you can get cancer form the checmicals, unless you buy organic, but then you are at risk of heart failure because of the cost, then if you don't eat your veggies, you suffer more deficiencies, if you eat chicken, you are exposed to steroids which bring on early puberty, if you eat too much fish, which contain the good oils, you can suffer mercury poisoning, if you live in the city, you are more likely to die of lung disease......(big deep breath)........exhausted just thinking about it all.
