What did you do? Not really a debate

Hey girls!
I am trying for baby number 2 (my partners number 3) and I can't decide whether i should do a test on my own or with my partner.
I think it would be cool to find out together, but i think it would suck if we got together to do a test to find a negative. But then if its positive we can both experience that together,
If i do it on my own and its negative, i can just wait til the next month without saying anything, and if its positive i can tell him in my own way.
I cant decided how to do it and just want to know what u all did and what you think is the better way?
our first was not planned, so this is a very exciting step for us to actually plan a baby!

With my first 2, I did it with him there. The second time, he'd bought the test and was waiting for me to use it, because I'd been feeling nauseous for no reason for about a week. He didn't think I was pregnant, so I waved the positive test in his face and said, "Ha, I was right!" :) We're trying for number 3 now, and this time, I plan to test on my own (did this month but it was negative) and surprise him. This will be our last, so I think it'll be fun.
How'd you do it the first time? I'd say do it the opposite way this time.

Well I was too nervous and excited to wait around for my husband so I always tested alone. Not to mention we had been trying for a year and every negative result I got was like a knife through the heart and I didn't want him to see me like that. So...I tested alone and told him when it came back positive (finally). But it's whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Seems I'm a little odd, I did several tests on my own and with my hubby before we got our first positive, I was always devastated when the tests were negative which is why I did them alone in the end. Then for the final test with my first I had been having some really odd symptoms and over dinner he had told me he thought I was preggers so we got the test and did it together, he had to read the test because I couldn't look at it, then after a few minutes checking to see where the 'not' of the not pregnant was we found out we were pregnant together (then I did another 2 tests alone just to make sure).

This time round I did a test alone and then told him I was pregnant, but we already knew I was either really ill or pregnant :-)

I did both of mine on my own.
Both times I told my best friend before my husband too! lol

i always done them alone, if i took him everytime he'd think i was crazy, he will be just as excited whe you tel him anyway, or be a little bit sneaky do one and if it's positive invite him to do one and let him see it go positive because it is exciting watching it go positive but not if its negative

haha yeah, I didn't take the news very well but my boyfriend was ecstatic. I laid in bed for a week crying haha. It's all definitely worth it, though!

I have taken my tests alone. I think my husband standing there staring at me peeing and then staring at the stick would make me more nervous.

baby number one, I would have def. said include him... but I've had three or four times my period was a few days late and we got all excited for nothing. It was frustrating for both of us... ((got preggo REALLY quick with first two (ok, I wrote two... but I meant three!!!!) I was pregnant within two months of trying.... must be getting old and slow.. LOL!))

Anyway, I would think there are other cute ways... if you are concerned about disappointment... you could test yourself, and then think of a cute way to surprise him... unless he already has an inkling.... if you both have been discussing the possibility, then he'll ask anyway, and you may as well do it together....

I always did it alone... I liked being the only one knowing the secret. Though it usually only lasted 10 minutes or so, then I was too excited and had to tell Hubby!

I did it on my own and then showed him when he got home i always think of taking a test when he's not around. He knows when I'm pregnant though. He says he can smell it. LOL!

my first i was single so....lol. with my second and third i took the test by myself. i find i'm a bit paranoid when it comes to being pregnant, so i wanted to be sure before i told him. hell, even then he didn't believe me cause the lines weren't dark enough, lol.

part of me wishes we had done them together, but that's only because they were positive. if they were negative then it would've been more irritating to me. soooo, basically i would make sure that you REALLY think you are pregnant (having some symptoms) before you asked him to join. :)

I peed on all the sticks all on my own (except w/ the girls when I waited til 6 weeks and we went to the doctor together). Little stinker always knew I was pregnant already though......

well last time wasnt planned and I tested at my uni doctor's office to 'rule out' pregnancy as to why I wasn't getting my period! I was on contraception, but my little girl had other ideas haha. I was only 19 and it was terrifying, so it wasn't really a nice experience, which is why this time i want to do it perfectly =)

Kinda funny story, I hadn't gotten my period in 3 weeks or so... This was kind of normal, I was never on time anyway, but my boyfriend was super sick. He wanted to know if I was one morning before he left for work, so I took a test, not thinking it could be a positive, but it was... Of course, he knew the answer when i started sobbing, but that was just me being 18 years old and at a loss for words. I kind of felt bad that he found out that way, but he was excited. He was 2 hours late for work that day so he could stay with me a while before I headed to the doc .
