What noises should electric/hybrid cars make?

So electric cars and hybrids pose some danger for pedestrians, especially the blind. If car makers were to add a noise to the car when it goes into "golf cart mode", what do you think it should be?

I drive a prius and yes they are very quite. I don't think hybrid cars should make any noise I think the drivers should pay attention and always be aware of their surroundings just like any driver should.

It should scream, "Look out, coming through!"
Is it the electric car that poses danger for pedestrians, or drivers who are not paying enough attention?

a man in tennessee was hit by a car and killed this past week... And itwasnt a hybrid! Answered several vehicle vs pedestrian strikes at 911... None of them were hybrids.

I have a Prius, and it makes beeping noises when I back up, which is nice because it warns people, except it beeps INSIDE the vehicle, instead of on the outside.

I know I'm in reverse, I'm the one who did it! Not sure what genius thought that feature up. But overall, I love the car. So easy to park, and easy on the wallet.

I think there should be "vroom, vroom" noises when backing up, but nothing when going forward.

Sound like a car, they already don't look like one at least they could sound like one. LOL!!

I could never ever own one until they make them into full size mini vans anyways. They won't be in my future for a long time to come. Try fitting 4 car seats in a prius. LOL!!

I'd say they should like my partner's motorbike but then I'd just be weak in the knees all day. Man I love that sound, I can feel it in my bones.

Yeah I'm not big on the corolla either but cars that are great on gas are always nice.

I have a hybrid and someone nearly opened their car door into me as I was pulling into a parking spot because they didn't hear me. And my dad is legally blind, so he has issues with not knowing if a car is coming. Pedestrians share some responsibility for watching out for their safety too.

But this is supposed to be a fun question anyway. My 4 yo votes for Lightning McQueen noises.

I just had this vision of a Prius making quacking noises - don't know why really, but it was funny to me!

I hated the corolla the look of it didn't appeal to me at all. It was great on fuel though I miss that bit.

My Prius is cool looking :) imo anyhow. It's brand new so I'm loving it. Plus with gas prices as high as they are I'm saving a ton of cash too! :)

Try 52 miles per gallon Emma :) Doesn't that make you want one? I love my prius!

LOL Golf cart mode! I think that noise should be made to mimic a regular car. It is what people are used to hearing on the street.
