What does your will or your perception/consciousness of will mean to you? If you had to choose between a life that was less satisfying, less meaningful and less beneficial to others but you could retain a sense of having control over your life, would it be worth it?

That is the life i yearn for, for myself. My family especially has been an influence in my life since i can remember. This has hindered me from creating my own self, and my own life. What I mean by this is - when they tell me that i should do this, shouldnt do that, i need to do this, have that, be this way, act that way, etc. the list goes on - my life is soo confused, mixed up, and out of control because Im trying to be all this and all of that - im to the point that im ready to lock my doors, and shut off all communication - just so i can live my life - its that bad right now.
Will.... my best description is doing whats right and what feels right, for the direction of creating who i want to be in life, and the steps i need to take to get there - with the Lord leading my way - helping me along the way - and helping me get back up when i fall, and getting back on the right path when i stray.
I will come back to this with more.
