Wise words..........

Someone i know posted this on their status today :

I want to remind you of those 3 words that you hear often but never absorb and put into action, as is always the case when a phrase becomes a cliche.
We all have relatively easy lives, none of us are starving or homeless, we're not dodging bullets or having to fight for our freedom. Our children are at school and not on a battle field or in a sweat shop. Think about it before you start whining; how bad is it? So you got a cold, you're bored, you can't find love, your kids are playing up. Well you have easy access to subsidized medication. You're bored because you're boring. Love is a luxury that you don't need but if you want it stop chasing it, desperation is ugly. Your kids are a product of their upbringing(it's your fault) So moaners please digest these 3 words.
'Count your blessings'

Just thought i'd share it, as i thought it was fab! :)

Nicely said!

Kati I think Sarah is bang on about the type of people this is directed at. Everyone knows at least one person who is constantly whining about something, every day. It gets tiring and old fast.

Edit to add:

As for soldiers posting about missing their families. I don't find that to be whining. I do think they see horrors over there we can not imagine and it makes them thankful for their families and miss them even more.

Kati, i think it's not aimed at people who have real troubles, like being in Iraq.
It was more about people who constantly moan on their FB status about silly things.
Everyone has a moan from time to time, that's human nature! lol
I think they were just trying to say that sometimes you should take a step back and realise that life isn't so bad after all. :)

i kindof think it's really rudely stated. people post that they have a cold to let people know what is going on in their lives. they post that we're bored to see if somebody can come do something with us. i have friends over in iraq posting about how hot it is, or how much they miss their family and i don't think they should be told to count their blessings. i do agree that i should count my blessings because i have many, but the way that was worded irritated me. i can bitch about something if i want to, that doesn't mean i am not aware of the suffering of other people around the world, and that MANY people have it alot worse than me. i don't know, may be it could've been worded differently to be more inspirational than just plain rude.
