Woman dies after illegal plastic surgery

A woman from the United Kingdom died this week in Philadelphia after receiving butt implants illegally, in her hotel room, in the hope it would make her famous.

The Sun reported that Claudia Aderotimi, 20, wanted a bigger booty, after being rejected for a part in a hip hop music video, because she didn’t have the right ‘look’. Her friends said that she often wore padded pants after that, and her confidence was at an all time low.

She reportedly has a first implant procedure last year, but sadly, after this procedure she suffered horrific chest pains and died in her hotel on Tuesday morning. Apparently instead of being injected with silicone, she was injected with less expensive industrial sealant, which traveled to her vascular system and stopped her heart.

Our hearts go out to her grieving family and friends. But it really makes you wonder how far people will be willing to go for fame.

What do you think? Are we, as a society putting too much emphasis on appearance, and making it near impossible for people to grow up happy with who they are, rather than what they look like?

I agree that this woman is partially to blame for her own actions. She did not research the procedure and allowed herself to take short cuts with an illegal plastic surgery. Sorry to sound blunt over it, but she is resposnible for her own actions, and sadly her actions lead to her demise. Should the "injector" also be to blame? Hell yeah! Sadly, this procedure would have easily been performed in a legal manner in a plastic surgeons office if she took the time to research and save money.

I doubt the person who did it was actually a doctor, or at least I hope that a real MD wouldn't inject something like that into a person...

Want a bigger butt? There are excerises you can try.

Why would someone want to even get this done in their hotel room? I understand it was illegal and all, but in the hotel room?

I think she deserves what happened for being too lazy to research the fact that in butt implants, nobody injects ANYTHING...and that it is important WHAT is going into your body...clearly the surgeon is NOT to blame...

I'm joking of course, just making fun of another thread. It is terribly sad that predators are out there waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting victims of advertising in our society.

It could also be because she was trying to get into a music video, and in the entertainment industry you have to look a certain way. You have to look like what the media portrays as sexy.

All in all, her stupidity is what killed her.

I don't think the media is to blame here, this is one desperate woman who was stupid enough to allow some hack job to inject "something" into her ass cheeks in a hotel room.
I do believe the media plays a large role in how girls and women view themselves, but I don't think the media can be blamed every time some dumb ass twat does something royally stupid like this. I would have to hazard a guess that she comes from a family where there wasn't a lot of positive male attention and where she was not valued for her brain, and emphasis was put on her appearance far too often.

OH yeah - spackle that crack!

Hopefully she died before she could procreate.

Wow.

Could you really blame her though? The media has wired into most young woman how a woman should look. I'm sad that my daughter will grow up in a world where looks are what matter. I mean even i've gone through the phase where i cared so much how i looked, it was all i ever thought about.

Maybe one day it'll change but for now, i think i'll just try my best to teach my daughter that it's more important to have a brain full of knowledge and a good attitude than it is to have what the media considers the "perfect" body and looks.

She had industrial sealant injected into her ass...

...does any one else find that idea just hysterically funny?

Why the hells would anyone want a bigger butt? Here... HAVE MINE! Anywho... I think people want to look like famous people or other people anyone but themselves. That's human nature. To want what you can't have. I was born a brunette, I wanted to have natural blonde hair like my 2 sisters and brother and have always gotten blonde foils. They dyed theirs brown!

Jesus Christ. That sounds like the hordes of girls who are travelling to South East Asia for the plastic surgery that Australian doctors are refusing to perform on them :-/

I find the whole thing terribly sad. For someone to be so utterly lacking in self esteem that they would resort to something like this is awful.

i get wanting to look nice, and wanting to fit in. i even get plastic surgery. what i don't get is why someone would let a hack work on them. maybe it's cause i live in iowa and we aren't so superficial or stupid here? idk, i always hear of LA and hollywood and stuff being full of superficial idiots, but where i live people don't care so much. we like to talk about the weather more than if someone has a gucci bag or big tits.

absolutely. The pressure for girls for be the 'ideal' image is intense, and i found it hard to deal with through highschool, to the point where at times i didn't eat. Perfect images are everywhere, on TV, movies, magazines, billboards, and even kids toys, books and movies. I have been studying the psychological damage of children and body image, and it is thought that this perfect image is drilled into their heads even by age 3. it totally disgusts me, I won't be letting my girl have many barbie-doll type toys, its just drilling it into their heads at a young age. sorry that might be going a bit off topic with the age thing, but i definitely think the pressure is huge for females to look good
