I booked time at an indoor playground for my son's first b-day and will be doing the same this year. It's great because the kids can entertain themselves and I don't have to clean up afterwards.

her dad and her can have their own party and you can do what ever you want. for my sons first party i rented a church basement and did his there because i also have a huge family. just a suggestion.

My g/f just had a birthday party for her two yr old and she rented the gym at the local rec centre...may check the local rec centres and see what is available.

Im not sure where you are located but Im having my 2 year olds with just a few friends and there parents at the indoor wave pool. It is warm in there and a nice break from the cold outside we are going cause it will be 44 deg C here so its a nice break from the heat.

My friend in the UK is hiring a small hall for the occasion since she has alot of family and friends. My sons is going to be low key as last year he had a big one and we also have my other sons 1st birthday to plan for in March

I plan on going to one of the 'bouncy houses' places. We have a few in our area, plus one of them does private parties on Sun so you have the whole place to yourself. But you can also maybe go to a church gym, many museums you can book for parties, or some daycares that are closed on the weekend rent out for parties.

Hi Ailsa, I haven't even thought about what I am going to do for my daughter's bday yet. SInce it will be too cold, why don't you try a place like Chuck-E-Cheese or somewhere inside. This could let the kids have fun while all the grown ups can get to know each other. Especially since you are with someone else. I am with someone else who is not my daughter's father so I know how that can be.
