Thanks--my son (now 6) was a biter as well and I thought it was "just normal". Turns out it wasn't, he has Sensory Processing Disorder and that is why he was biting. So now I am confused on what is "normal" and what isn't. It was in 3 year old pre-school where all of this was really brought to my attention (he was a hitter as well--also part of SPD) SO now it is like it is my first child all over again--not sure what is normal and what isn't. Thanks again.

my son is 23 months and is also a biter, we was told that its quite normal as its fustration when they cant say what they want to say! i was told to put my son into a nursery so we have signed him up 2 mornings a week to start on the 11th january 2010, the recommend to get a child out of the biting stage more quicky as it helps them share with other children etc. i know its very fustrating but it should pass in no time!
