Hi, My daughter is 18mths and will not give up the bottle. She refuses to drink milk out of a sippy cup, she will throw it down. She gets 2-3 bottles a day. 1 in the morning while I get ready for work, a midday bottle and an after dinner bottle. I know standard is give it up at 1 yr old, but she is stubborn. I am ok with the bottle, except when I see other kids without one I feel like I am doing something wrong. Any thoughts?

I agree with both mums my little one still has a bottle in the morning when she wakes up and she will have one for her midday sleep and night time sleep but she uses a sippy cup the rest of the time which i think is fine.....when she is ready she will just give it up i hope anyway.

Mine is the same way. She's been very resistant, but I figure she'll give it up when she's ready. Don't feel like you're doing something wrong - she's just not ready to be away from it yet. I've told mine that hers cannot leave the house....its easier than fighting with her all the time!

Hello my son is 18months old, and though he will drink from a sippy cups, he loves to wake up and fall to sleep with his bottle, i would just try to wean her off her midday bottle and stick to the morning and night times and in the future wean her off.. i still had my bottle to go to bed until i was 3years old.. did me no harm! hope i helped.
