Routine...praise/rewards..be strict! Set a new routine...reward them for speeping in their own bed and mean it. If you have to maybe set up a little bed in your room and then later put it in theirs. You can do it! But it's not going to be easy...just keep to it.

I have the same problem. I haven't had the will power to let him cry it out in his own room yet, but we are moving into a new house and I have decided that is when I am going to do it. I dont in any way shape or form think that letting him cry it out is making him feel "unloved" or "rejected" I learned with my 2nd that no matter what, she sleeps in her bed lol. and she LOVES her bed! We all have our little quirks when raising our kids=) I wish you the BEST of luck with it though.

Mars will scream in her toddler bed if she doesn't feel like going to bed. We have a pretty consistent routine but her figuring out that she can get up anytime can be very inconvenient. I let her cry herself out and sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes but sleeping in her bed until 6am on is worth it. I'm usually out of her room before 9pm. Be strong, the crying actually works to your benefit, it really tires the kids out. As long as your son is not sick or hurt, it won't hurt him.

My 2 year old daughter was like this so I started at about 15 months giving her a sippy cup of water to go to bed with and read a story and told her it was time for her to sleep in her own bed and mommy had to sleep in her own. She threw a fit the first week or so but got used to it and now I can tell her to go lay down in her bed and she will do it no problems. Hope this helped. Sometimes you just have to make a bedtime routine. *I wouldn't suggest a movie or television*

Put him in his bed and read him 3 stories. Give him a kiss and say good night. Be firm about him staying in bed. Watch Supernanny.

Well that is it Geraldine with the best will in the world u should never have let him sleep in your bed cause he now can't understand why he is now being encouraged to sleep alone. He could feel rejected unloved confused who knows what goes on in their tiny little minds.Maby if u try reading him a story in his own bed until he falls asleep it may work over time.anyway good luck to u and ur little one .

our little girl is the same, shes got her big girls bed but as soon as we say its bed time she says mummy & daddys bed.we usually take it in turns to lie next to her til she nods off but as soon as she wakes up she wants in our bed again.but we are going to persevere with it and hopefully she'll understand!

My daughter is the same way. She will sleep all night if she is in my bed, but if I even try to put her in her bed she freaks out. We redone her room and she was doing good with sleeping in there for a week. It would take two to three hours to get her to fall alseep, but it was worth it. Now she is two and back in bed with me. She was sick and I let her in bed one night and thats all it took to ruin it.

unfortunately u usually have to just let them cry when you put them in their own bed but they get used to the idea in a couple of days it worked with my son ! x
