Make sure you are giving him only 1/2 cup of 100% juice then fill the cup up the rest of the way with water. Only give him juice once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Give him only 1/2 cup of milk with each of the 3 meals. If he is thirsty offer him water. If he craves more milk, offer him yogurt or cheese for a snack. Only allow him a dessert after dinner if he has eaten most of his food and shown good behavior. This is what I do with my son who is the exact same age (birthday is Jan 30). When he doesn't eat regular meals, I stop giving him a snack in the morning and then he gets hungry and eats lunch.

If your son is drinking a lot he won't want to eat. Make sure he doesn't fill up on liquids before he eats. I usually give my daughter milk after she's eaten a little bit of her meal. At snack time she gets a drink after she's eaten. Also, as mentioned above try making meal times fun, and if you are really worried about what he's eating don't worry so much about making sure he gets all the veggies and what not. Make sure he has a variety of healthy food to choose from, he'll eat what he needs.

My daughter has also suffered with eating problems and the more of an issue you make of eating the more a 2 year old will fight against you - its the battle of wills at this age group - try making eating fun with a picnic and invite other friends with their children along - and if you are worried about your child losing weight add cream and butter to some meals which will increase cal intake at least

my two year old goes through stages where she will not sit down and actually eat a meal but she will snack all day... so it may just be a stage he will out grow
