potty training

I started a month ago with potty training. It went well for a week, she even did number 2! Now she wants to go and rather play in the bathroom - sits on the potty and toilet and nothing happens. When I ask her to put on her nappy she refuses and plays on the toilet. What must I do, leave it for another month or two? She turned two in January

I would recommend that you keep trying with her and just go slow, my daughter who also just turned 2 in Jan. did the same thing, she just wanted to play while on the potty, she would try unrolling the toilet paper, talk about the bath tub, brushing her teeth etc. I was so frustrated that I stopped and waited a month or so to try and give her time, I really wish I would have just stuck with it. Now I am having to start all over again with the training and she is still very distracted while on the potty, but I have learned not to talk to her at all after I first put her on the potty and tell her to go pee-pee. She has had some success and I am determined not to stop now and try to get this whole process over with. Good luck, I hope I have help you some, the key is to not rush and have lots of patience with her!

I think if she is still interested in the potty let her play in there. Does she wake up from her naps dry?If so it is a good indicator that she is ready to start potty training. I have had a horrible time with my son. He is almost 4 and he is just now getting to where the only problems we have are going #2. So I wouldn't say I am the best person for advice in this area :0).
