I started training with my daughter at 22 months. She was showing an interest in using the potty and was staying dry for a couple hours at a time. She was also telling me when she had peed in her diaper. By her second birthday was completely trained...getting to the potty on her own, getting her pants down on her own, & trying to wipe herself. She still needs help with wiping & getting the pants back up, though.

I also have 2 older boys, but didn't start training them until 27 months. Probably could have started earlier with them though, because they both trained easily in about 2 weeks.

I got a potty for my little one at 13 months old just so he could get used to it then a week before he turned two my hubby had time off work so we worked on it then he did really well but we have days where he is super and other where we don't get one on there but he wont keep a nappy on not even at night and he has been dry at night and for naps for over a month, he comes to me in the morning and always does a big wee.. he likes the stickers but I don't think he sees them as a rewards he goes when he wants to and when he doesn't want to Ive got no chance we wont and dont push him but I really hope he gets it in the next few months his younger bother is about to turn 1 and through Cameron's toilet training we have been putting him on the potty and at 18 months we are going to work on his training he has already started taking his nappy off !! great !!!

I surrounded by wee our new health nurse told us not to bother but as I explained I don't have a choice he will not keep his nappy on !! he also loves wearing his pants he puts them on himself. I don't mind its hard work but its ment to be

when your child is ready you will know you just have to pay attention to them because they will give you signs. reember t be patien they may do well one day and not be interested the next it took about 2-3 months for Jayden to get it. big kid uderwear help so if you are gonna be in the house use underwear because they can feel when they are wet more than a pull up and it helps them understand wet and dry

It depends on when the child is ready I have a friend whos 1 year old uses the toilet, but my 2 year old is not interested and my maternal child and health nurse told me not to worry about trying to train him until he is 2 and a half to 3 years old, so it really does depend on the child. I would suggest to not push and let them do it in their own time and dont worry about when others kids are doing something coz all kids are different. Good luck with it all.

I think Jasmine hit the nail on the head. Your little one has to be ready to do it. Alman asks every now and then to go on the toilet and even wipes himself but nothing has yet to come out of that kid! BUT, we continue to encourage him and it'll happen. I heard tragic stories of parents pushing their child to potty train too early and it just back fires.
