I have 3 kids, each 17 months apart. This was not planned, but coudln't have worked out better if we'd tried. My two oldest play together so well and love on the baby so much that we joke he has 3 mommies :)

I just went through that seems like not that long ago but I guess it was. My son was 8 mths when I was "ut oh" 1 mth pregnant! I was blessed with another boy that is as big as his 29 mth old brother now! They are cute together but have their spats over toys & jealousy over mommy. :) Congratulations!!!!! I have an almost 7 year old daughter too! Busy house but wouldnt have it any other way.

To all of you having another baby close to the first one: It's really not as scary as it sounds. My 2 differs 15 months, and it's a breeze. First of all you are alreaddy in the routine fo changing nappies, and night time feeds, so it's no adjusting. Secondly, the first child is still to young to be jealous, and thus the transition into family life is fearly simply. My 2 is aged 2 (end Jan) and my girl 9 months, and the 2 babies are the biggest of friends... I do nappy changes similtaniously, dress them toghether and batch them toghether. When is dinner time or lunch time, both are sitting next to each other, one is eating himself, whiles I'm feeding the smaller.
When I'm breastfeeding the baby I usually lie on the couch and big brother will bring his bottle and lie on top of me, so he also feels he's getting milk from mommy! Everybody's happy.

Personally I think this is easier that having big gaps, and having to get used to everything again. We actually planned close pregnancies, due to me and my brother differing 11 months, and my mom always said that it was easy raising 2 children close in age. And I do agree!

lol it was def not planned but my girls are 11 months apart. Although it is stressful somedays I don't think I would change it if I could. The hardest part is that they are going thru things one right after the other. Hayden started sleeping thru the night, her sister came along and back to the sleepless nights. Hayden started getting teeth and now Ashlyn is going thru it. Other then these little things they play together pretty well and Ashlyn just thinks Hayden walks on water. It's sweet to watch the two of them together. When I see Hayden lean down and kiss her sister on the top of the head for no reason, it makes me so proud to be the mommy that gets to see and be part of their lives. You will be fine, just remember the little things that stress you out wont last forever. O, and make sure you get tons of baby free time, it'll help I promise :)

Ive got a 14 yr old,a 21 month old(2 jan 1st) and 33 month old(3 jan 5th) and their all girls. i fell pregnant 3 months after i had my 2nd and altho its been tough and very noisy in my house, i wouldn't change a thing. Took a while 2 bond with her cos i didnt want 2 be pregnant so soon but dont agree with abortion unless extreme circumstances so we cope as best as we can, its not easy but then if it was we'd all be bored lol. Actually planning to try 4 a boy next yr so hopefully it will be a bit quieter by then but not banking on it lol. All u can do is enjoy it and take 1 day at a time, it'll work out just might be hectic at 1st x

My son is 16mos and I'm 22 weeks with we-dont-know baby! We wanted them close in age. Yes it is tiring, and will be a challenge when that baby gets here, but we have a great supportive community as well as a great family to help out! That means alot to us.

I have a 4 year old, 3 year old, and a 15 month old. All boys. It is a little tough when they are younger but I am told that it gets easier as they get older. My two oldest are two peas in a pod. We joke and call them Pete and Re-Pete, and Monkey see, Monkey do. They are best friends. My 15 month old is not letting them leave him out though. They all do well together. Just remember to be patient! Good Luck!

Seems to be common in this group...most of us are expecting close together. my son is just over 15mths and I am 11wks today! I think that the age difference is perfect...plus I love that my little boy is not old enough to request a boy or a girl, so I don't have to deal with that dissapointment!

My daughter is 15 months and I am 28 weeks pregnant with a boy. Very exciting but very tiring also. Congrats!

My son is going to be 16 months here and I am 20 weeks pregnant now. It's def going to be a diffucult thing as this one is a girl. I was hoping for a boy for my son to be close to. But my girls 6 1/2 & 5 are 16 months apart and get along for the most part very well. You don't see one without the other. It's really nice because they keep each other entertained when Momma is busy or needs to get things done. But of coarse like all kids they do fight and have there moments! I hope you the best with both your babies. You'll be fine and your son will be a great big brother!!!

I have a boy that is 4 then i unexpectedly got pregnant 6 months later and had a little girl that is now 3 then i again got pregnant about 7 months with twins they are now 21 months then we adopted a little girl that would have been 15 months but died last year in may and i am now about 36 weeks pregnant. If I could give any advice it would be to just take it one day at a time try not to stress your self out before the baby comes. If you think about all the what ifs it will make the pregnancy and the start of miserable. I nursed all my babies and at one time that meant nursing three at once. It takes a lot of time and my husband had to pitch in at times he could get him and have to make dinner because i was nursing for the who knows how many times hat day. So again take it one day at a time and talk to you husband about the things that make you nervous and set up a little bit of a chores list for each of you to get through at least the first 3 months.

i also have a 15 month old and i'm 26 weeks pregnant...this was not planned, but other than just being tired from constantly keeping up with my son, I feel great! I'm happy to have them close together, but I'll be interested in seeing how my son reacts when the baby arrives! He loves to cuddle and lay his head on my growing belly, as well as kiss my belly and the baby reacts to it-its great!

I remember that. My oldest was 18 months old when my second son was born. It was pretty crazy at first, and my oldest didn't really understand; he'd only known that he was talking to the baby in my belly and couldn't figure out what the heck it was doing in my arms instead of him LOL. It got better though; especially when it came time for potty training :-)

CONGRATULATIONS to you ALL, and honestly nothing good in life is easy. I have 3 children 13yr boy, 5yr girl and 15mth girl, currently pregnant and due in approx 10wks. Glad to have atleast 2 close in age to entertain each other. At times it was sad to see my son without a sibling to play with when he was young, but back then we were only ever going to have the one child, oh how things change.
The two older kids want a boy, I think its a boy and have told daddy dearest that its a return to sender if it isn't, LOL - thats how confident I am but all jokes aside. I will be 36yrs when this baby is born and as long as it is healthy, what else could you ask for.
And to all the mums present and expecting, they grow toooooooo fast so enjoy them and dont worry to much about housework etc. because even if you get it done its going to be there again tomorrow.. Have FUN and don't let the pressure get to you because its only work...
LOVE & BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL..............................

Hi, I have a 15mth old son and we are now starting to try for another one. It seems to be more and more common to have kids closer in age so they can learn to share and play together. Its going to be alot of work but in the end they will be the best of friends and get along for the most part.

My son is almost 15 months and I's expecting twins in September (a mere 5 months away). It's a little daunting to think of having three kids under the age of two, but I also think it will be fun to have them close together. I was close in age to my brothers and we had a lot of fun together growing up. I'm relatively confident that my son will be a good big brother, though we weren't planning on adding on to the family quite yet. He's very independent, and we're hoping that he won't feel too overshadowed when his siblings arrive. It's definitely going to be an adventure...
