Hi there! It's really tough picking out such an important safety item like a car seat. I started researching my daughter's convertible car seat months ago to try to pick the "right one". I finally made my decision and purchase a couple of weeks ago. I ended up purchasing the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX. It was rated #2 in Consumer Reports (the most recent edition) and had many positive reviews online. It rear faces to 30lbs (which is not as high as some others) and front faces to 47lbs, but the front slide adjustment and the fact that it was more compact sold me on it over others. We have a midsize vehicle and many car seats are too large to fit well.

I am very happy with my decision but your decision will depend on many personal factors. I don't mind purchasing another seat after she grows out of this one but you may want one that will have a higher weight limit and the type of vehicle you have and how it will fit. My best suggestion would be to check out the reviews on websites like amazon and consumersearch. Just take it all with a grain of salt. No one car seat will please everyone!

Good luck!

The Graco my ride 65 goes up to 40lbs rear facing and 65lbs forward facing, which is awesome since rear facing is the safest. It has excellent consumer ratings too. And it retails for $150 which isn't too horrible. Good luck.

We have two the evenflo brand and the cosco. Evenflo has better adjusting straps but the hard plastic can rub sometimes when they fall asleep. My daughter seems to like the cosco one better it reclines a little more and she seems more comfortable, and it was just our spare for our other car so not nearly as expensive.
