I'm in the same boat!! My 10 month old gags on just about anything other than oatmeal, yogurt, and mum-mums. I have to sneak veggies into his oatmeal and he'll eat it, but the won't eat plain veggies. He won't eat plain fruit. He gags on LOTS and LOTS of finger foods... bananas, puffs, cut up peeled grapes, avocado, etc.. I even tried hiding these things in his yogurt, but he'll gag on the lumpiness. Oi. Anyway, good luck. They won't be eating baby food forever.... they're just not ready!! Try and try again!! :-)

My little girl is 9 months old, and she goes through good and bad days when she will eat more lumpy food. It can be very frustrating as a mum. But she doe like finger food like rice cakes, apples, bananas and toast. If she doesn't eat all her lumpy food i still give her finger good.

This happened to my cousins child. All kids are different and eat different things at different ages. They will grow out of it and eat regular food eventually. They just aren't ready yet. Or may have a touchy gag reflex. Just keep doing what you are dong and he will definately let you know when he's ready!

Hello there :) I found that my son Jackson wouldnt eat stage 3 foods. I would give him small pieces of veggies and fruits on his trey that he could pick up and i would also feed him stage 1 and stage 2 foods to make sure he is getting the right nutrition. Hope this helps, good luck :)

I was just going to post something similar. My son will be 10 months on the 16th and anything with texture such as lumps or solids he gags and gags until he thows up. A couple months ago the dr. said to start giving him other foods and when I told her what happened she said to wait a while and try again. I am just not sure what to do to get him to tolerate other textures so I hope to hear some advise.
