My son wont eat anything but second foods!

My son wont eat anything but second foods... I've tried third foods, I've tried making my own oatmeal, mashing up my own sweet potatos and even cheerios, wagon wheel, yogurt melts, teething biscuits, and sweet puffs. I have no idea what to do! He is turning one this Saturday and should really be eating more than second foods. Any ideas? I'm still giving him formula because I'm afraid he wont get enough good stuff without it, oh and with a bottle, not sippy cup. He wont take those either. ha.

My little guy won't touch the dinners baby food. He'll do the cereal, fruits, and some of the veggies but he mostly wants MY food. Have you tried the Baby Mum-Mums? They're rice cakes for babies and they sell them at Wal-mart. My son LOVES those, sometimes he won't take anything else! Picky babies, huh?!

At this age, he will be fine on the same diet as you (salt and extra sugar free though), so maybe ditch the jar foods. Offer him table foods - cooked veg, fruit, toast, cheese chunks etc. He doesn't need teeth to be able to eat foods like this. Or allow him to spoon feed himself. My daughter is currently learning to use a spoon too (she turns one on Friday) - it's messy but a learning process.
