What ratio of juice to water do you put in your child's juice cup?

My daughter only gets orange juice for breakfast. I usually do a little over half juice and then the rest water, I also add her daily vitamins to it. I know that juice really isn't a necessary part of their diet but, I really think all the Vitamin C is helping her. She was sick quite a few times last winter, and so far, this winter she's been very healthy!

I just give my daughter boring old water. I want her to have a taste for plain things, too. I don't drink enough water, and I'm hoping I can encourage better habits in her.

Coincidentally, V-8 Fusion is also great for pregnant women who refuse to eat their vegetables. Not that I'm naming any names. :) But yes, I couldn't stomach most veggies with my first and I can't now either (due in 8 weeks).

The V-8 Fusion is a good idea. Like you, I don't like the idea of putting sugar in the diet, so we give water only at meals, milk at sleepy and waking up times and I have been adding a small amount of juice to cups of mostly water because he drinks it better in between meals. We had a spell of constipation during the early stages of solids and the doctor recommended grape juice as a natural diuretic. Now, however, I don't like the idea of giving limitless supplies of even very watered down juice, so I try to limit these to two cups in a day and give ice water the rest of the time. I'll try the V-8 fusion.

I don't give my daughter juice. I don't see the point of giving her more sugar, unless she's eating really poorly, then I'll give her V-8 Fusion, which has fruit and veggies in it.

Other than that, she gets milk and water. That's plenty.
