My baby won't crawl... only scoots on her bottom?

My daughter will be 11 months on June 28th and she will NOT crawl no matter how hard we work with her. All she wants to do is scoot on her bottom or roll to whatever it is she wants. She will walk with assistance & along the furniture - put will not pull herself up either....

Is this normal? Is there anyone else out there with the same issue?

I have a friend whose baby only scooted on his bum until he learned to walk, never crawled. My daughter walked on her knees until she was 15 months old and decided to walk. I think the most important thing is that they are mobile. Sounds like you have nothing to worry about.

My daughter will be 11months on July 21st and like your little girl she will scoot everywhere on her bottom and will not crawl, she is a slightly big baby though for her age which I think makes them a little lazier to get going! My son was 12months before he crawled and by 14months was toddling around all over the place so I wouldn't worry too much...some babies are just a little more relaxed about getting started with all these huge tasks they face!

Sure it's normal! When I was a baby, I did the same thing and started walking at 13 months. My sister in law's sister has a boy that only did an army crawl. As long as she is mobile, there is no issue. She'll walk in her own time, she may never crawl.

My first baby butt scooted, then walked at 10 months. My next one is 9 months and is currently butt scooting, and showing no signs of crawling.

every baby meets milestones on her own schedule! i know it's super frustrating, but in a few years you won't know the difference between a baby who crawled at 6 months and one who crawled at 11 months. I would keep putting her on her tummy a lot, cuz crawling has been shown to be important for development, but don't sweat it!
