Warm air seems to be the best. Adina said that her doctor said the cool mist was better but when she takes him in the bathroom for showers that would be warm. I have also used the Vick's plugins and they seem to work OK but they can be very strong so you need to watch how close it is to the crib and that the room is well ventilated. Good luck!

I gave up on the humidifiers and used one of the plug-in vaporizers that doubles as a night light. You just slip in a medicated strip (something like Vicks) and it worked wonders for my daughter. Plus it was so much less of a hassle, and less expensive!

My doc told us cool mist humidfier was best. We also sit him in the bathroom with mom and dad take showers for the steam and that has seemed to help as well.

for my daughter the warm air has worked so so much better for her congestion - the cool air doesnt even compare - plus they say that there is less chance for bacteria growth with a warm air one :)
