My 3 month old sleeps a lot during the day.he usually has 2 naps which are 2 hours long , and another 2 naps which are 1 hour long.

Goes to bed at 7pm wakes up for a feed at 1 am wakes up again at 4:30-5 am for another feed then goes back to sleep till 7-7:30. Any ideas how I can eliminate 1 middle of night feeding?

Actually I was told by my pediatrician that at 3 months babies can go 8-12 hours without a feeding therefore I should consider eliminating nighttime feeding after 4 months

so 6 hours between the first two feedings, and 4 between the second and third feedings....Please remember that a 3 month old's stomach is tiny and they simply cannot go 8-12 hours without food or drink like an adult can, and follow her cues.

Your baby is doing pretty good considering his age...my four month old still wakes up every three hours at night for a bottle but he never opens his eyes...sometimes I can try to get him to stretch the amount of time maybe to four hours but I think your baby is doing pretty good...I know you want your sleep but you'll b able to sleep again someday lol

It looks exactly same as my son used to do when he was 3 months old. Same timing :) And he is on formula. Look, if he wakes up at night just to eat and falls asleep after that - this is perfectly normal. If he cannot fall asleep after that then you need to cut one nap during the day. When I was trying to increase the gap between feeds so my son would eat a bit better I would just play with him as long as I could. Just to get him distracted. Cuddling, jumping him gently up and down above my head - that keeps them awake and my son loves it. After 2 days he dropped from 9-10 feeds to 6 a day. Look, pretty soon he should be napping less. As soon as they discover that world is interesting it gets easier. Not sure if it will help you but my son loves playmat. I bought few dangling rattles, very bright kinda animals. He is kicking and grabbing and screaming he is so excited. That works a as good shot of coffee and in the same time he is very very active. So once he is ready to sleep he regenerates what he used. Thus he sleeps only when he really has to. I know it is tiring to get up at night so many times. We started solids about 3 weeks ago. Last night he slept 8 hrs straight. Still have to get up once at night but makes a difference after getting up a few times before.

how long do you wait before you go get him in the night? i've read to try to wait 10 minutes to let them settle back down and hopefully fall back to sleep before you go in. are you bf? if so another suggestion is to have dad go in since he will know that dad doesnt give food. lastly, try to decrease the amount in the feeding. hopefully that will work. but 3 months is still young and 5 hours from 7 pm til 1 pm is a long time.
