Baby pulling on nipple while breastfeeding

My daughter has started pulling on my nipple while breastfeeding. She doesn't like the left side as much as the right and pulls, even pushes with her hand against my body, harder on the left side. This is starting to hurt. Any suggestions?

i was always told, at any time your bub is hurting you when breastfeeding, pull him/her away and sit him/her away from you. After a minute, try again. Keep doing this until s/he gets the message. Use 'no' as you pull away so s/he is aware that thre is a problem. I've only had to do this once when my little girl bit me (w/o any teeth too). No harm in giving it a go. Good luck! xo

I hear ya! My son has been doing this latley and it does hurt. I find he does it more if we are side lying so I've had to stop. Now we feed in the rocking chair so I can get a better hold of his head to keep him from pulling back. I also hold the hand he pushes with but really I have not found a way to stop him. I've tried saying no and not giving him the breast for a min, but he thinks it's funny. He bites me all the time now that he has top teeth and laughs when I react.

I did what Angela did, especially when my 10 month old first got teeth and started nipping me with them! And after 2-3 times of putting her down and walking away, she got the hint and has never done it since.  I now use the count to 3 method when she starts playing up on booby so she knows that im serious!
