I hope someone can help me with this problem. My 7mo old has a skin issue. She has red, dry skin around her mouth and on the back of her head. I have tried everything I can think of and what the doctors have told me. Does anyone else have/had this problem and if so what did you do? Just when I think its cleared up it comes back again! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

HI. I have a 3 year old and a 8 1/2 month old, both have had these same issues. We use Aquaphor on all of these red scaly areas. If they get really red we use 1% hydrocortisone cream too untile the redness is gone then switch back to just using the Aquaphor. Hope this helps!

my little boy has had red patchy skin all over his body since he was born. My doctor told me to use 1% hydrocortizone cream instead of lotion. And then put vaseline over top. I bathe him every night and put on the cream and then the vaseline, he looks like he has perfect skin now. i do this every night, i even rub a little vaseline into his scalp to keep it moist. It has worked wonders for us.

Our son too has dry skin...we use e45 cream, they also do it in a body wash and bath oil so his skin is a lot softer now after his bath.

Thanks for your comments and ideas. We have been using Aveeno Baby and some other cream my mom found that is for baby eczma. I will have to go looking for the vitamin E cream and give that a try. I was hoping somone had a maricle cure..lol thanks again Rachel and Allie

My daughter has this too! We have been using Aveeno Baby for dry skin and eczema a few times a day (more so, whenever I think about it). Also when we are just relaxing around the house I put Vitamin E cream over the really dry parts, her nose and cheeks. It's pretty greasy but it's all natural. My doctor said it was a really great idea. You can find it at some pharmacy's usually in the band-aid section...you can use it on any cut, burn, dry skin, sunburns...etc. It's great!

My daughter has dry, red, flaky patches all over her, too. I honestly think it's because it has been so cold out an the heat is on. I have been bathing her less often, slathering with lotion/creams, using a humidifier and hoping for warmer weather soon! Wish I could be more help, sorry mama!
