Organic vs. Non-Organic Foods and juices

I started to make my baby's food. So far I've only made organic carrots and butternut squash. I made him a sweet potatoe but it wasn't organic. Isn't there certain foods that pesticides aren't a problem? I really want to make all of my baby's food I just wasn't sure about the organic part for everything.

Also I want to introduce juice but I really don't like the idea of all of the sugar. What brands are good? I know you can also dilute with water. Is Pedialyte good?

I prepare all my vegetables for my 7 month old, and I just get regular vegetables from the Supermarket, I wash, peel and then cook the veggies that takes away any germs. and I have never seen a problem in my baby. Its builds up their immunities anyway.

Babies'r'us and Walmart are really good for organic baby food and juices. It's not only pesticides with non-organic food, but growth hormones and whatever, so I try my best to stick to organic. You may be buying from several different brands, but it's worth it. Not only is my son real healthy, but hasn't had any digestive problems and no diaper rash (organic diapers).

Gerber makes some really good organic goods, and Earth's Best. I'm jealous of the baby food they make!!! lol

For dinner he eats things like Organic Gourmet Sweet Pea Turkey Wild Rice. At 88 cents a jar, well worth it.

I also give my son juice. Not as a formula replacement, but I use it for him to "wash down" his baby food meals. Gerber makes organic Apple Juice and White Grape Juice. White Grape is a good place to start if your babe hasn't had juice before. I give him 1oz juice to 3-4oz water. My doctor knows about this, and gave it the okay.

I see it as, one, he doesn't have any teeth right now anyway, two, he's not addicted to it, and three, when he does get teeth, there's baby toothpaste without flouride. I think we're covered! :)

Good luck!

I have found some organic baby food (actually quite a bit of it) at Babies R Us. But, shoot, if you can make your own, go for it. I'm also trying to do organic as much as possible. Why not give them a good start to eating right.

As for the juice, I just posted a similar post asking about it, so no answer on that one.

Try the Organic section in walmart. In mine it is in the cereal isle. I saw they have like juicy juicy organic. I heard the farmers markets are the way to go as far as veggies and fruits. I know that Beechnut is also a great baby food. My daughter has food allergies. She has the advoid all that junk too.
