My daughter is 9 months old. I was told by that age your child should be eating baby food 3 times a day and eating the whole jar (2nd stage) at each feeding. Well... My daughter isnt! She does good to eat 2 jars a day but thats feeding her the same thing for breakfast and lunch sometimes dinner to. What should I do momma's? She is my first child and I am just lost on this. She is doing good on everything else she is trying to walk and she seems to be growing just fine, she is small but not under weight. Any advice or info will be greatly apperciated! thanks!

food before 1 is just for fun !

many babies dont take to solids until they are older. Every baby has a different appetite aswell.

Mix it up, you can give her a few tablespoons of this, followed up by a table spoon of that and a bit of this ! I always give my monster a variety at meals. I find the different flavors keep him interested in it longer. I give him finger foods as well for him to work on in between spoonfulls and while im steaming/ cooking/ thawing his grub

as our babies are getting older, getting closer to one year, the liquid diet starts to reduce to make more room for solids. from what i have read, gradually over time you reduce the percentage of liquids and up the percentage of solids of her over all diet.

example, say at 7 months baby was drinking 36 oz a day. If you give 6 oz of solids during the day total, you reduce the liquid ( formula) by that amount. Water diluted juice etc, shouldnt substitue formula or breastmilk intake either.

Now we are breastfeeding, so i did things a little differently , I always nursed first then gave solids, so that the food didnt interfere with our nursing relationship and hurt my supply. But as he is getting older, Logan nurses 3 times a day , instead of 5 or 6, and gets a bottle just before bed. Mainly because he is too damn curious and wanting to crawl away to settle to nurse before bed.

Just follow your baby's cues, she will tell you what she needs. No point in stuffing her till she pukes. Offer a variety of foods through out the day. let her have fun trying to feed herself, finger foods, mash up some of your dinner for her.

Baby food is bland as all hell, change it up !

Your baby may just be getting bored of jar food and ready to move on to other things. Before 1 year food is more for play and exploring than nutrition so don't worry if she doesn't eat the amount you think she should. Things like cheerios, puffed wheat, bananas, avocado, steamed carrots, broccoli, cauliflour, toast, peaches etc are great starters. Try giving her a few soft things cut up small on her tray to try and continue giving the jar food until she is used to the solids and you are comfortable eliminating the jarred food. The guideline I've been told is about one tbsp of each food group per year so since your daughter is not even one she needs very little solids.

Your baby is now almost 10 months old, I would try table food. I tried to give my baby, babyfood and she spit it out and just wanted to play in it...she has been on table food for over 3 months now and loves it. I still give her formula and toddler yougurt and cookies for a snack in between meals.

My son is not a big fan of the jar food. I find if I make him something from scratch with a bit of seasoning he eats it all up. It is amazing how much baby food you can make with just a few items. He also is very interested to try whatever we are eating within reason.

my son is going on 9 months and has solids for breakfast and tea and just snacks during the day on biscuits and whatever. He has a couple of bottles. You're doing just fine. Everybody eats differently and children are no different. If she is healthy that's all that matter.

the more different foods we give them to try is a better start to there allergic reactions as a child and the more taste they have for different foods and chances are you might have a better chance having your child eat different things instead of chicken nuggets that i see alot of 2-3 year olds eat as thats all they eat. i gave my son a slice of supreme pizza with all the bits on it and he eat everything had a little shake at the olive (which i didnt think he would eat) but he did he had all different textures and flavours and he will work out what he likes and dont like i tend not to give the baby jars to him anymore i give him what we eat all into sizes that suit him..... weetbix or toast for breaky, fruit or sandwich for lunch and what wee eat for dinner he gets, i even use the blender a little for the meat so he can eat it and mind you my son has no teeth either and eats fine.....

I wouldnt worry about it some kids are just hungrier then other. I go through stages with my son who loveshis food and will eat like 3 jars a day to other days when he only eats like 1jar a day.
If she is healthy and doing well i wouldnt worry about it. i offer a cereal for breaky and something different for lunch and dinner so maybe change it up for her.
Good luck but in the end they all grow up the same
