Just wondering if people have gone back to their pre pregnancy weight yet??? I am still abt 4-5 kilos more than what I weighed but have started hitting the gym a few times every week. Can't afford a new wardrobe!!!

Ivy does the same thing. Drives me a little nuts! Do you make your own baby food? That's a HUGE money saver! Cloth diapers if you really need to, but that's one I just can't do, unless we're about to be bankrupt. Vinegar is a great cleaning agent. Cheaper than most other cleaning supplies, environmentally friendly, and has so many uses. There's a book...I can't remember the name, but it gives all the uses of vinegar. Maybe google would help there...

Ha ...ha totally understand ! Also I was wondering what extra jobs I cud do around the house to save money... It is hard cause I can't really leave Neil for too long. He just tries to eat everything! The belts on his high chair, the toys, u name it!

[deleted account]

Absolutely. It's a different sort of challenge learning to be frugal. Never loved coupons more than I do now!

[deleted account]

Yes and no... Miss the intellectual complicated stuff but not the stress and long hrs... Neils dad working extra hard and u do work within Ur means when there is less money coming in...

I don't blame you. I just wish I could afford to. I would much rather be at home with my girls all the time. Not that it would be easy by any means, but it's much less stressful to have to not have to worry about getting them put together to go to the sitter so I can get to work on time. Especially with a 2 year old fighting it tooth and nail. Do you miss work at all?

I wish my bubba wud drink like yours.... Btw my work is very demanding with a lot of responsibility and night cover as well so I am waiting till Neil grows up a bit.

I'm glad you've been able to keep it up. It's just completely baffling to me that an infant refuses the breast that way. I don't doubt you at all, I just mean, my girls, they would try to nurse through my clothing if I wasn't moving quickly enough for them. It's a completely foreign concept for me. I wish I could have as much time off of work as you. You are so lucky!

I am 10lbs away from my pre pregnancy weight BUT still have a TON of skin left that keeps me away from my pre preggo clothes! The doctor actually put me on a diet pill and strict diet (sadly breastfeeding never worked out) because I was having some weight issues (gained a lot quick and couldn't lose it) for a couple years before pregnancy. If you are close to your pre weight... I would suggest what I call a body sucker! They look like leotards for under your clothes. I got the ones that don't have a built in bra and just come up under your own bra. I was SHOCKED at how well they worked and aren't too uncomfortable. That is what I had to do in order to not go buy all new clothes!!!

Hopefully the gym works out for you!!!! Remember to watch your diet too at the same time and I bet it will come right off!

We r planning a visit overseas end of march and I start work in April. I was hoping to continue at least till then. Neil has been trying to wean himself since 3 months of age but I am somehow persevering ...I have done a lot better with him compared to Nicky who gave up at 3 months.

[deleted account]

Ah a double edged sword on that one! At least there is an end in sight :) How long to you plan on bfing?

It is a medication used for morning sickness. The side effect is increased levels of prolactin which induces lactation. It has been used for a number of years for boosting breast milk. The side effect is relaxing the gut muscles tricking u to eat more hence the weight gain.

Yea Neil! Oh, I've got the pouch as well. It's definitely tightening a little bit, but still very much there. Thank goodness for midrise jeans... I've never heard of Domperidone. In fact, I've actually never heard of taking anything to increase milk supply, other than eating/drinking properly and nursing/pumping often. What is it?

[deleted account]

My sis is a pear too... I have thinned my legs to "not too bad." Ha ha very Aussie expression ...but my tummy had this pouch I wish I cud just get that removed! Has anybody heard of hypoxi? I have only exercised so far to get fit but it does not seem to b working because I am on the Domperidone to produce baby's milk supply and weight is a side effect unfortunately. I am still happy cause Neil is growing . Btw he put on some weight on the solids!!!

I'm that blasted pear shape. Small on top, bigger hips and thighs. I haven't been my actual prepregnancy weight since before my first. I'm about 12 to 15 pounds off, and I'm hoping to get back down to it by this summer. Of course that's all contingent on me leaving the chocolate at the store...We'll see how it goes!

I am 2 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight. I dropped to 10 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight due to the amount of milk I produced. Once I quit, I gained the weight back.

I hear ya! I still had a little "gut" and my legs like I said..but I have a small curve too so any extra accentuates it...and as for fitting in my jeans...no way with my new hips! I had teeny tiny really no hips before now they aren't huge but I have the curves I guess women I meant to have lol

[deleted account]

I seem to accumulate the weight on my tummy... Absolutely hate it! Also I have this curve in my back so if I have a small Amt of extra weight it accentuates it. Not to mention I am petite and even 3-4 kilos extra means I can't get into my jeans... Boo hoo :(

I lost all my weight plus extra 5 lbs. I think I am still losing weight and I became too skinny. I don't know how to stop. I ate a lot and I don't work out much. I guess it's the stress between the baby and work plus I am still pumping breastmilk causing it. When I stop pumping, maybe I should also watch out to eat less! lol

I haven't yet! I lost the majority of my weight in the hospital after she was born...but still have some to go...but I had very slim hips and a very small frame pre-baby and now my hips and legs are bigger...my stomach was just about flat again but still have more weight in my legs and hips than before...And now I'm pregnant again....we'll be going fo A LOT of walks after baby #2 gets here! I gained a lot of weight though...I started at 128 and at the end was 185...the doctors were never concerned as it was mostly in my stomach...Madelyn had A LOT of amniotic fluid...the doctor was even surprised when he broke my water...my mom was the same way..gained an excess of weight. I'm hoping with this pregnancy I won't gain near as much!

[deleted account]

Well, I only gained about 5 pounds during my second pregnancy, and I lost 15 after she was born, and have gained 10 back...so, yes. :) That just means I still need to lose approximately 20 pounds. Can't wait for spring to get outside and play!
