Casserole recipes...

I'm in need of a few good casserole recipes. There are however a few limitations...

We've had to move to temporary accomodations before moving to the US but the pots and pans are all rusty and I refuse to use them except to boil pasta or boil in the bag rice.

So... I was hoping to find some casserole recipes but everything I find requires browning of meat before hand. I refuse to do that in these pots, the non stick coating is peeling off and I don't want to risk feeding my family food that could make them sick!

My husband hates peas, corn and brussel sprouts and I'm not a fan of peppers unless they're roasted (and I just don't have time!) and our 1 yr old eats pretty much everything (although he still requires food to be pureed).

I hope you ladies have some great casserole ideas but it has to be something I can just pop in the casserole dish and pop in the oven. No browning of meat, veg in a skillet/etc beforehand. I would prefer one dish meals too as easier clean up! And please not too many with condensed soup, I try to stay away from them if I can! Also, as few ingredients as possible, I don't want to stock a spice drawer when we're moving across the Atlantic in 4 weeks!

breakfast casserole
6eggs beaten
6 slices os bread cubed or shredded hashbrowns
1 cup shredded cheese
2 cups milk
***** sausage, bacon, ham , what ever your family likes**************
Mix (put bread (hashbrowns) in bottom,mix milk, eggs,cheese and choice of meat if any )leave in fridge for atleast 1 hour or over night
9+13+2 dish
bake @350 for 45-60 mins

i like to put chicken in green bean casserole! and if u refuse to use ur pans to cook the chicken u could always cook it in the oven first, cut it into bite sized pieces, put the casserole together, chicken included and bake it like u would regularly.

one more! a friend made this for me after my fourth child, very good!

You need:
boneless, skinless chicken breasts (tenders are even better)
1 can of cream of chicken soup (I usually do 1 and 1/2)
1 cup salsa (I do 1 and 1/2)
big bag of tortilla chips
4 cups sprinkle cheese

cook and shred the chicken (i cook it in hot water)
mix the soup and salsa
PAM a 13 x9 dish
layer chips in the bottom
spread half the chicken
spread half the salsa mix
sprinkle 2 cups of cheese
repeat for second layer

cook 45 minutes at 325

done and done. super easy.

My kids just helped me make this todayit was very easy and i am already thinking of different things I can add to it to make variations!
1 box penne pasta
1 large (26) oz can tomatoe sauce
1 tub ricotta cheese
1 bag mozzerella cheese
parm cheese

Preheat oven 350. Boil pasta 8 min, drain. while pasta is cooking spay 9X13 dish with cooking spray. mix ricotta with half mozzerella, mix with pasta when drained. pour half tomatoe sauce in bottom of pan, layer past mixture on top. sprinkle rest of mozzerella and sprinkle some parmesan on top. pop it in over for 30 min.

It was very good and very easy. I'm thinking about doin git again with chicken in it or hamburger. Good luck!

I have one if you have a crock pot. And I know you didnt want to many with can soup but this is sooo simple. Take 4-5 chicken breast(or whatever you like), 2 cans of cream of mushroom, 2 cans of milk(just use the cans from the soup), bag of onion soup mix and mix together and put in the crock pot. Cook on low for the day or high for a few hours..about 1/2 hour before you server dinner take the chicken out and shredded it and put in 1 cup of sour cream in and stir well then put the chicken back in to warm back up..serve over rice or noddles. My family likes it with frozen peas but you can leave them out or put in any other vegs you like..

buy aluminum foil when you cook place foil down. taco salad ..browned hamburger mixed in taco a bowl mix lettuce,tomatoes,cheese,onions mix in meat serve with tortilla chips or Doritos top with sour cream salsa

Macaroni Casserole
Mix together cooked macaroni, cheese sauce, tomato sauce, hot dogs, onion, garlic...Then top with a layer of cheese and bake at 350F for about an hour or until your cheese is browned nicely.

Preheat ovento gas mark 4/180''C/350''F. Roll 600g lean cubed shoulder of pork in 25g plain flour, 2 tsp dried thyme and seasoning. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large flameproof casserole dish. Add 2 crushed garlic cloves, 12 halved shallots, 2 chopped celery sticks and 2 medium (150g each) eating apples (cored and chopped, not peeled). Add the pork and cook over a medium heat until sealed and browned, about 3-4 minutes. Add 450ml (3 quarter pt) hot chicken stock. Bake for 1 hour. Meanwhile, boil 900 pototoes until tender. Drain and mash, adding 4 tbsp skimmed milk and 3 tbsp chopped fresh parsley. Seaon and serve wit pork...

use 2 onions, i large carrot and 1 large (135g) parsnip intead of shallots, celery and apples...


Exchange the pork with 500g Quorn pieces. Serve with 4 large (375g each) jacket potatoes, baked for about an hour or until tender..

I make a meal called hobos and everyone loves them. And you can make each one different depending on taste. Form ground meat into patties. Place one patty in center of aluminum foil, top with sliced potatoes and baby carrots. Season with whatever seasoning you have on hand. Wrap and bake @ 350 for about an hour.

You can change this up so many ways too. Sometimes I wrap the patties in bacon and put mushrooms and onions in with the potatoes instead of carrots.

Endless possibilities and easy clean up! Hope this helps!

here'sone for you it's tuna noodle casserole

1-2 cans tuna drained
8oz egg noodles cooked according to pkg directions
2 cans cream mushroom soup or cream of celery your choice heat on stove w 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup mayo
1 small jar pimentoes
1 green pepper chopped
1 small onion chopped finely
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

after noodles are done place in large bowl to mix add tunna and green pepper and then onion. add in mayo then cheese just 1 cup then pour in warmed soups and mix well. place in well sprayed 13x9 pan bake at 375 for 40 minutes or untill bubly and hot through at lat 5 minutes add last cup of cheese on top

Beef Stew

Place your meat into a large stock pot or casserole dish and add whatever vegetables that are in season. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and a diced onion and a stock cube. Cook on a medium heat for 1.5 to 2 hours and thicken with a bit of cornflour. I never brown the meat on casseroles it does not make any difference.

Thanks Donna, although I was hoping for something sort of more "all-in-one" with meat and carbs. I do the chicken, cauli & broccoli and rice bake with the cream of chicken soup with some cheese on my hubby's side lol so thats very similar but without the meat and rice!

broccoilli casserole sorry about the spelling, ok take 2 lbs of any veggie and 2 lbs of shredded cheese,half cup of helmens mayo and beat two eggs and pouring into mix, and salt and pepper to taste bake for about 50 mins on 400 degrees and you have yummy cheese and veggie casserole. hope you like it found it the news paper a few years back, thought i would share , enjoy
