chicken and dumplings

how do you all make your chicken and dumplings, i want to make some but the last i made some they turned out really bad.. so please help me out

If you have some time on your hands you can try it this way. It's traditional southern homemade chiken-n-dumplins.

Large pack of split chicken breast w/skin (usually 4 to 5 pieces)

Self-rising flour


Boil the chicken breast w/the skin on until tender and thoroughly cooked. Let cool. Remove skin and pull all chicken from the bone. Set aside. Add water (that the chicken was boiled in) to flour until you have the consistancy of a biscuit dough. Place chicken back into remaining water and bring to a rolling boil. Roll dough into a THIN layer with a rolling pin

this is the recipe i use:

the only changes i make is i only put about 2 chicken breasts instead of a whole chicken (personal preference) and use ready to use chicken broth instead of using a gallon of water. i also add the boullion cubes one at a time since it can make it very salty.

i love this recipe. very good and lots of dumplings!! :)
