Easy/Healthy Granola Bars

2 C Oats

1C Whole Wheat flour

1/2C Brown Sugar (or less)

1 Cup dried fruit, raisins, nuts, choc chips - whatever sounds good

3Tbs Ground Flaxseed

1/2 cup Toasted Wheat Germ

3/4tsp salt

3/4tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup canola oil

1 egg

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

2tbsp Vanilla

Preheat Oven to 325. Mix dry, add wet, stir until well blended then knead with hands. Pour on greased cookie sheet and press flat (so it sticks together). Bake anywhere from 18-30 minutes - depends on your oven, altitude etc. Watch them - they should be golden brown around edges. If too dry then cooked too long. Once cool, cut into bars.

This recipe is pretty forgiving so you can play with it. For example honey instead of maple syrup works pretty well. Can also cut back on sugar.
