This is called Meat pie..it's a family recipie. You need unfrozen hamburger, a bag of shredded hashbrowns, roll out pie crusts(top and bottom) one lipton onion packet. First you place the pie crust into dish, then mix together the hamburger, onion packet and some salt and pepper if you like then put the raw hamburger mixture into pie crust, then pile the frozen hashbrowns ontop of the meat inside the pie crust then put 1/4 of a cup of water in the pie. Place top crust on the pie and cut an "x" shaped mark in center of the pie coat the top of the pie crust with a little egg to give it a nice look when it's finished. Cook at 400* for about an hour. I make brown gravy with it..my family loves this!

TACO SOUP

1 lb hamburger
1 onion, chopped
1-3 cloves garlic
1 pkg taco seasonings
2 - 3 cans diced tomatoes
1 can butter beans
1 can chili beans
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can whole kernel corn or half a bag frozen corn
Plain Tortilla chips
water

Brown meat, garlic and onion in a large pot. Drain. Add seasonings. Drain all beans except the chilli beans. Drain
corn if using canned. Add to meat along with tomatoes and their juice. Add the Chili beans and their juice. Simmer
until hot, stirring occasionally. Serve topped with grated cheese and sour cream. We eat ours with Tortilla chips
instead of a spoon. Add water if needed for a more soupy consistancy.
Optional add ins: Mushrooms or olives are tastey mixed in while cooking or a handfull of shredded lettuce on top
when served. Extra chili powder or tabasco adds an extra spicy kick.

Beefy Mac (something I threw together, so no exact measurements)

1 package lean ground beef (I use Organic) OR Ground Buffalo is great, too!

1 box of Quinoa Veggie Curls, Quinoa Elbows or Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta (or any other healthy pasta)

broccoli, peppers, onions and carrots cooked and blended in a food processor

one 15 oz can of plain tomato sauce (I use organic)

half a small can of tomato paste

season with basil, oregano, thyme, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder, to make it "italian". Switch up the seasonings to cumin, chili powder, salt pepper, garlic powder, parlsey to make it "mexican".

Saute veggies until soft, blend finely in processor and set aside. Brown beef in same pan until done. Add tomato sauce, paste, veggie blend and seasonings and mix and warm through until done. Mix up with the cooked pasta and it's done! To switch it up, cook the pasta till just slightly undercooked, mix with the beef mixture, pour into a baking pan and top with reduced fat cheddar cheese and bake at 350 until bubbling. Turn on broiler and broil until cheese is golden.

This is one I made up

Cheeseburger Stromboli

1 pkg refrigerated French bread loaf
1lb hamburger
1 pkg shredded cheese (you can use mozzarella, cheddar, cheddar jack, swiss, whatever you prefer.)
Ketchup and mustard to taste

My basic recipe:
Fry hamburger drain grease
Add ketchup and mustard to taste
Take French bread out of canister and you will see a seam running along the side. You can unroll the loaf until it is a flat section of dough.
Spoon hamburger mixture onto the dough
Cover with shredded cheese
Roll up dough with hamburger mixture inside
Slice a couple of slits in the top of the bread dough to let out steam
Spread butter/margarine on top of the loaf and sprinkle with garlic powder/salt
Bake in at 300 degree oven until bread is browned. (I usually end up doing about 30 minutes turning the pan every 10 minutes)
Slice and serve.

You can add mushrooms, bacon, onions…anything you like on your burgers. It is so easy to change around.

We had this last night and my family loves it! I chop up some onions very fine, lipton seasoning or onion flakes/salt & garlic salt then mix into hamburger and form patties. Brown the patties (they will raw still inside). Crank oven to about 375 or 400, put hamburgers into a casserole dish & mix up some brown gravy, either mushroom or regular, pour over hamburgers cover with foil and let it go for about 45 mins or so.

I have a recipes for you. It is another version of a recipe already posted. Just uses alot more veggies. Great because the kids can help out with it too.
Shepherds Pie
1 lb Ground Beef
2 cans Mixed veg or 1 large bag frozen mixed veg
1-2 packages of instant brown gravy (Bisto is best but any will work)
5-6 Potatoes mashed with butter, milk, salt and pepper
sliced cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Brown ground beef. Drain well. Prepare gravy mix per directions. Add gravy mix and veggies to meat.
Pour into 13x9 inch baking pan. Spread potatoes over the top of meat mixture. Bake 20-30 minutes until gravy is bubbling. Top with cheese and bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Can also be made quickly. Just forgo the baking and serve as a gravy over the mashed potatoes. Thats what usually happens in my house.

I have three quick easy recipes that my kids love!

Impossible Cheeseburger Pie from Bisquick

1lb. ground beef
1c.chopped onion
1/2 tsp.salt
1c.shredded cheddar
1/2c.bisquick
1c.milk
2 eggs

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 9" pie plate. Cook ground beef and onion until beef is
brown; drain. Stir in salt. Spread in pie plate; Sprinkle with cheese.

Stir remaining ingredients until blended. Pour in pie plate.

Bake about 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

*Note: High altitude, bake 30-35 min.
Prep time 13 min. bake time 25 min.

Also one i learned from a friend when my kids were little.
Shephards Pie(as i've learned since then there are many versions of this)

1lb. ground beef
1can cream of mushroom soup
1can corn(could also use creamed corn if you prefer)
cooked mashed potatoes
about 5-6 slices of american cheese (depending on how big your pan is)

brown the ground beef in one pan while making mashed potatoes in another (can use instant to save time)
drain ground beef, mix with cream of mushroom soup,spread in bottom of nonstick skillet. spread can of corn on top of ground beef mixture, then spread mashed potatoes on top. Open slice cheese and place on top covering the top of the potatoes.
Cover with a lid and cook on low heat until cheese melts.

My kids love this and i make bisquick's biscuits and some white gravy to go with it.

Third one is a Hamburger helper meal: Fried rice meals(they have one for chicken and one for beef or pork)

brown your meat add rice mix and follow directions according to the box then scramble some egg and mix in with the meat and rice mixture can flavor with soy sauce.
Again quick and easy takes about 30 mins.

Also have some quick easy Chicken recipes if you want some , just message me and i'll send you some. Hope this helps !

I know it's getting warm, but for when it gets cooler...how about a meaty potato soup?
Just brown the hamburger and drain. The peel and chop potatoes into about 1 inch pieces.
Chop and peel an onion, brown it with a bit of butter in a large stock pot. And a little garlic if you like. Add potatoes, and fill the pot halfway with hot water, and put the heat on high to bring soup stock to a boil.
I like to add Lipton's Beefy Onion Soup, normally 2 packets for a big soup pot. I never add more salt, the soup is plenty salty enough. If you like tomatoes and carrots, add them now.
If you don't have or like Lipton's, then add beef bouillon to taste, it's also very salty. I always add a lot of black pepper, but my family like everything spicy.
Add the beef, and cook for about 2 hours on low heat. Stir occasionally, to make sure it isn't sticking on bottom. I even like to cook it longer, and let the pototoes cook way down, making the soup creamier. You can also add heavy cream, or sour cream. This is wonderful served with cornbread or crusty warm bread. Leftovers freeze easily, and taste as good as the first day. Variations can be adding all types of fresh or frozen vegetables, mushrooms, even cheese. You can omit the Lipton's, and add taco seasonings to make it a fiesta soup. It's a wonderful recipe, and it really stretches the beef to feed a lot of people, or make several meals.

Hamburg Gravy: Scramble 2 lbs ground beef,(drain if necessary), season to taste, I put garlic, onion(fresh or how ever you may have in cupboard) no more than a 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, pepper. Add Cream of mushroom soup and what ever kind of milk you have on hand, ( 1/2 to 3/4 of a can)

Serve over either, rice, noodles, or mash potatoes.

This dish is easy to make and for my family it is the best comfort food! I have even mailed this dish to our 2 daughters when they were having exams.
I could have sent them the money to buy the ingredients themselves a lot cheaper (containers, dry ice, and postage) but it would not have been the same.

Tacos, taco salad, beef & bean burritos, tostadas, beef enchiladas... Can you tell my family likes Mexican food?!! We like to buy the edible taco salad shells too - makes it more fun!

Also, here's a recipe for a "cold" taco salad (that sounds gross but is great!)

1 lb ground beef (cooked, drained & cooled in fridge) can use taco seasoning or not

I head iceberg or a few stalks of romaine (or you can do bag salad - but I'm not a fan)

Your choice: cut up tomatoes, onion, cucumber, celery, red pepper, etc. (whatever salad ingredients you like)

1/2 bottle Kraft French dressing

1 smaller bag of Doritos (nacho flavor) crushed

2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

Add the cooled meat to your salad, cheese then add crushed Doritos & dressing before serving. I am not a fan of French dressing, but it works with this!! We like things spicy in our household so we add some Tabasco or hot sauce to the French dressing to kick it up a notch...

We call these bean burgers, but it's really more of a sloppy joe, and much more delicious than it sounds. Brown the beef and drain, then add a full LARGE can of baked beans (don't drain them). Add ketchup and mustard to taste (more for flavor than additional liquid, so a squirt or two of each) and salt & pepper, then heat through and serve on buns.

[deleted account]

Old stand by, brown ground beef, drain, add to prepared macroni and cheese.
A new one for me but so good. brown ground beef ,drain, set aside. cook your choice of noodles. While noodles cook , slice 1-med head into thin strips, 1 large onion (your choice) sliced into strips. in olive oil saute onion and cabbage until translucent. Add ground beef, warm, serve over hot noodles. Add salt, pepper, hot sacue to taset.

Quick, easy, and versatile...Roman Holiday...Cook Macaroni and Cheese (any box kind will work) as instructed. Brown ground beef. You can add mix veggies if you want. Layer in a casserole macaroni & cheese, then beef (I usually layer 2-3 times). Top with a can of chopped tomatoes. You can even use salsa. I use the end of wooden spoon and poke the casserole to help the tomatoes drain down into the layers as it cooks. Top that with grated cheese and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Here in South Africa, we can get tomatoes with onions, or chillies, or peppers, or peppadews, so I can change the flavor quite a bit.

Nachos - cook chopped up onions & capsicum, add beef & cook, add 1/2 can of pasta sauce & 1/2 can of chilli beans, put on a plate next to corn chips, grated cheese & carrot sticks, the kids love putting it altogether themselves.
Meatballs - mix beef, onion, 1 egg & any herbs if you want, add flour, put some flour on a board & roll the mixture into meatballs with flour on the outside of them, you can either cook in frying pan or oven, heat up can of pasta sauce & cook pasta & it's done.
Hedgehogs - same as meatballs but instead of adding flour you cook rice (I do the microwave rice) & add it & then the rest the same as meatballs, put sauce & salad next to it on a plate, a good all in one meal.
Lasagne - cook onions, capsicum, frozen vegies (I like to use frozen spinach), add mince & cook, add can of pasta sauce, cook whatever kind of pasta you want, put it together, grate cheese on top & grill in oven until cheese is golden.
Shepherd's Pie - same as lasagne, except cook potatoes instead of pasta, mash potatoes, put mince mixture in the bottom of a dish, put mashed potato on top, then put grated cheese on top & grill until cheese is golden.
Mince on Toast - any leftover beef mixture, heat up in microwave, cook toast & spread mixture on top, yummy!
Baked Potato - (also a good leftover option) cut open a potato, cook in microwave until cooked through (in it's jacket), put beef mixture on top & grated cheese, is great spicy with sour cream!

Junk Biscuits

This is a great way to use up leftovers!! I've listed four filling options that I have used and enjoyed but the possibilities are endless. That's why they're called junk biscuits. You stuff them with whatever junk you've got sitting in the fridge or cupboard!

Ingredients:
1 - 2 packages store bought biscuit dough (you could also use powdered biscuit mix, just prepare according to the box)

Filling (amounts are approximate):

Option #1:
1-2 cups cooked ground beef, drained
1 cup grated chedder cheese
1 small can stewed tomatoes or leftover spaghetti sauce
pinch of Italian seasoning
pinch of garlic

Option #2:
Leftover taco meat
grated cheddar cheese

Option #3:
Leftover alfredo sauce
Chunks of grilled chicken
parmesan cheese

Option #4:
scrambled eggs
chopped ham
chedder cheese

Preheat over per directions on biscuit mix. Spray a muffin tin with cooking oil. If using regular sized muffin tins, split each raw bisuit in half horizontally. Lay one half in bottom of each muffin cup. If using jumbo sized muffin tins, put one whole biscuit in the bottom of the tin. Form the biscuit dough so it covers the bottom and sides of the muffin cup. Mix together your filling ingrediants and warm them up in the microwave. You want them to be warm but not hot. Spoon filling mix inside the cup of dough that you formed. Place the lid of dough over the top pinching the sides together. For the regular sized muffins this would be the other half of the biscuit. For the jumbos you can use another whole biscuit. Bake per biscuit directions, may require a few extra minutes to heat through to the center of the filling. When there is only a few minutes of cooking time left, sprinkle more grated cheese over the top. Eat hot, take cold for lunch at school or work, or reheat for breakfast the next day!

How about some form of taco casserole. There's a ton of different recipes online. Here's one example that is a healthier version:
Ingredients
* 1 lb extra lean ground beef
* 1 sweet onion
* 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
* 1 1/4 teaspoons paprika
* 1/2 teaspoon cumin
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 pinch cayenne
* 1 (15 ounce) can non-fat refried beans
* 1 cup mild salsa
* 2 cups baked corn tortilla chips, coarsely crushed
* 12 ounces low-fat cheese, shredded
* 2 green onions, chopped
* 1 tomato, chopped
* low-fat sour cream (to garnish)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease an 8x8 baking dish.
2.Brown ground beef and onion together and drain, then stir in seasonings.
3.Heat refried beans on stove or in microwave, then stir in the salsa.
4.Put corn chips on bottom of 8x8 dish, pour beans over corn chips, then add the beef. Sprinkle cheese and green onions over top.
5.Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is sufficiently melted.
6.Garnish with tomatoes and sour cream
