hello everyone

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and can't wait to see and try new recipes. I have been married now for 12 years and my husband is in the Army as a cook and we both love getting in the kitchen and cooking and trying new things...we love it and now our kids have picked up on things and they are always in there to help us and they just love it because they helped and they usually will eat it or at least try it.

I wouldn't say that I know everything about everything when it comes to cooking but I am good at what I know to do...lol! I love baking any and all things from breads, to cakes, cookies, etc and everything homemade. I love cooking as well and try my hardest to make everything from scratch and usually am good at it, which I am a stay at home mom so I sorta have time to get things together.

I love taking recipes and changing them to suit our needs and our wants. We more times than not will throw food out because we have just expertiment with the wrong things...but you don't know until you try, right??? lol!

I know I want to learn more so how to bake breads....which isn't hard I have found out and would rather bake in my own oven verses the bread machines...I just have to make sure I find something to do while the bread is proofing...haha!

I am also one of those savy cooks. Though I love spending time in the kitchen...I still love playing with my kids and enjoying my family. So I have found short cuts for us and figured out I have saved money in the long run. I know everyone loves chicken and it is a really verstaile meat. Instead of buying the b/l, s/l breast, I buy the whole chicken. Though a bit more work it does save us money. I will boil the whole chicken in chicken stock...that I usually have in the freezer from the previous one...but I cut up what I need and put it in seperate bowls for different meals and all I have to do is thaw and finish it off with whatever meal. But before freezing it I also put a tad of the chicken stock in there before freezing so it doesn't dry out as much.

So hello to everyone...and happy eating!
