i would like a tasty chocolate cake recipe for my sons 3rd b day it has to be enough batter for a 12x16x2 cake pan i think thats 12-13 cups, any suggestions?

you could always make a cake from the box you buy in the store,it saves time and money and when theres a specific flavor of cake you like, check the back of the box, usually theyll have another recipe to spruce it up, or to kinda cutesy it up for the kids.

We make Ooey Gooey Chocolate cake that has been a favorite at our house now for years...
Take your favorite Chocolate Cake (We most of the time use box because it saves on time, triple chocolate is good)
Take one can sweetened condensed milk and mix with 1 jar ice cream caramel sauce.
When you take the cake out of the of oven poke holes in it with a straw.
Pour the caramel mixture over the cake so it can seep into the cake.
Place cake in fridge for an hour then top with cool whip, and then shave (or in our case grate) chocolate on top. Keep in fridge until serving.
It's sure to be a hit!

Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Cake  ( recipe on the back of Hershey's Cocoa can)



2cups sugar                                           1-1/2 tsp. baking soda                          1/2 cups veg. oil



1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour                   1 tsp. salt                                              2 tsp. vanilla extract



3/4 cup Hershey Cocoa                         2 eggs                                                  1 cup boiling water



1-1/2 tsp. baking powder                      1 cup milk



 



1. Heat oven to 350-f.  Grease and flour baking dish.



2. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.  Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on med. speed 2 min.  Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).  Pour into dish



3. Bake 30-35 min



Cupcakes: Bake 350-f 22-25 minutes.  About 30 cup cakes



 



Perfectly Chocolate Frosting



1 stick butter (1/2 cup)                              3 cups powdered sugar          1 tsp.vanilla extract



2/3ups Hershey cocoa                             1/3 cups milk



 



1. Melt butter.  Stir in cocoa



2. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating on med speed to speading consistency.  Add more milk, if needed.  Stir in vanilla.
