I need some good recipes for a diet...

My daughter will be 2 this month & I'm still trying to lose the last 20lbs (as well as some extra weight) from my pregnancy. It's been really hard for me to make dinners for my whole family that are good and healthy & that will help me to reach my goal.
I realize that I could make a salad for myself & something else for my family but I'm a firm believer that the whole family should eat the same thing, I think that if my daughter sees me having something else she won't eat her dinner... But I digress.

If anyone has any healthy recipes for the whole family, I'd really appreciate it!

Healthy soups are also a great way to fill your belly with veggie goodness. I will give you my formula for cream soups.

Sautée some onions in olive oil (until tender)
throw in your veggies (I like to include some cauliflower to make it creamy)
add spices, salt and pepper
cover your veggies with chicken broth
cover and cook til veggies are tender
blend and serve

This week I made a broccoli and cauliflower soup with leeks in lieu of the onions.

hi buy your self an 10inch plate for starters
chicken in tomatoes sauce with home made potatoe wedges..
place skinless chicken breast in pirex dish
then ontop put in tinned tomatoes
carrots onions mixed herbs chopped pepers...
cover with foil place in the oven...while thats doing...
peal potatoes cut in half the again in half and then again for the 2 quarters...spinkle with some garlic powder and some mixed herbs and place at the top of the oven leave to cook for about 20 to 30 mins...
then put onto plate its low in fat and healthy and the whole family can have it also steam lots of veg if u bulk up on veg u wont get hungry...

I went on a low fat diet...just get leaner cuts of meats and marrinade...orange juice good marinade and you can add spices you like.....low fat choc cake will curb your choc craving..I make this and my grandkids and friends requst it a lot.....I saw a diatision(sp) and she showed me how to do a fat free diet. I lost 60 lbs in 6 mths and have kept it off. I call it a lifestyle change not a diet..only exercise I do is walking...got my recipie for choc cake at allreciepies..have used them to make a lot of dishes
stir fry meat in pan sprayed with pam add vegs of choice some chicken/beef broth simmer till veg at your desired doneness add tin of mushroom soup,tin of milk/water and add cooked noodles and you have a meal in 1/2 hr or less and it is yummy and low fat

Try this, I got it from the weight watchers website and my children and hubby loved it as well.

Saute i small sweet onion and 3 cloves of minced garlic. Cut up boneless skinless chicken breast(about 1 pound) into 1 inch pieces. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper to taste. Cook with the onion and garlic till done. Add 2 cups of fat free chicken broth and 5 cups of frozen broccoli. simmer for 10-15 min. Serve over rice(brown is better)

Probably the best way to go is to make meat, veggies and carbs (rice, pasta, potatoes), but on your own plate, double up on the veggies and cut out the carbs. It's really hard to loose weight with pasta casseroles and the like.

Some yummy low carb recipes I like:
Cabbage Roll Casserole
Brown 1 onion,1 lb hamburger. Put in casserole dish. Add 3 Tbsp rice, 2 cups tomato juice. Top with 3 cups of finely chopped Cabbage. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours
Serve with rice and sour cream optional

Stuffed Bell Peppers (great for the fall)
