The Lopton Onion Soup mix has a great recipe on the package. Not on the box, but once you open the box there are two individual packages and the recipe is on there. It is the best meat loaf ever. I use less water than it says on there because I like a dryer meat loaf.

okay here goes, one thing you should remember is that you can put a lot of different things in here it just depends on what you like and what you have but here are the basics
ground beef
chopped onion
minced garlic
crushed crackers
egg
ketchup
mix it all together, sometimes we put in a pepper or two for some heat
put in a baking pan and put salt and pepper and some tomato sauce on top
bake at 350 for about 35 minutes

I cook for a family of 6 so my recipe is quick and easy...

2 lbs. of ground meat (season with some pepper and garlic powder)
1 pkg of brown gravy mix
1pkg of french onion soup mix

Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes...drain juices and replace for another 15 minutes max.
This is a great time to add cheese to the top for picky eaters. I put mine in a glass loaf pan, but really just adjust your time accordingly if you don't have the depth.

1 1/2 - 2 lbs ground beef
1 package of dry onion soup mix
1-2 Tbs of worcestershire sauce (to your taste)
2 eggs
1/4 cup of ketchup
1/2 shredded cheese (we use mild cheddar)
1+ cup oatmeal (Old Fashioned or Quick cook... but NOT instant!)

Topping
1/4 of ketchup
1 Tbsp of worcestershire sauce
Stir Together.

Heat oven to 350º oven, line loaf pan and baking sheet or jelly roll pan with aluminum foil (we use a lipped baking stone without foil).
Mix meatloaf ingredients, press into loaf pan lined with aluminum foil. Turn meatloaf out onto baking sheet. Brush topping on all explosed sides of loaf. Bake until cooked through - generally 45-60 minutes.

To speed it up, you could cook the meatloaf half-way in the microwave, then put the topping on and finish it in the oven.
This recipe also freezes well. I often make a few of them up ahead of time and freeze them. They do cook a little faster if you make them smaller (mini loaf pans).

I still cook them outside of the pan so that the fat will drain away, and so they get a nice crust!
