It's hard to find recipes with only a few ingredients. We don't buy a lot of onions and peppers, or herbs...so I am looking for recipes without a lot of that stuff.

Please share any simple recipes that you know of. Thanks!

Buy the prepared seasoning pckgs for about .50 at any market. You don't waste $$ on seasonings you will only use once or hate.

Zatarans yellow rice is a life saver. Add beef, chicken, pork and a veg for a complete cassorole. The other Zataran rices are a bit spicy so buy one at a time until you know if you like them.

Top Ramen, mushroom soup, peas, left over cut up chicken. Cook the Ramen, add the mushroom soup, mix, add the peas and chicken.

Pilsbury Pizza Dough in the biscuit section, pizza sauce, grated cheese, and meat. Pop the pizza dough open smush it onto a cookie sheet, spread pizza sauce, add meat, add cheese, and you have pizza for $3.

Chicken Tostadas

Rotesserie Chicken(it's already seasoned)

1 can of mixed veggies OR peas and carrots

about 1/2 cup of mayo

1 pkg. Of tostadas

Get the chicken and pull out the meat(make sure no bones) and pull apart so that the chicken is in thin strips. Kind of like pinching the meat apart. Add your can of mixed veggies(drain out the juice first), mayo, and gently mix with a fork(so you don't smash up the veggies)until it's

not dry and spreadable. Add more mayo if needed. Spread on dome tostadas and add some hot sauce on top for the adults :o) super easy and my kids love it!

You can google anything. Try for example "meals with 5 or less ingredients" and you should be able to find sites to go to with lots of recipes.

Yesterday I bought a big container of ground turkey (only $5) and used half to make meatloaf, it was enough for dinner and leftovers. The other half I used to make a big batch of breakfast burritos (eggs are cheap) that I froze and can heat up each morning. Hope this helps!

Thanks. I don't have a lot of experience with cooking and when I buy the vegetables they end up going bad. I don't exactly like onions and peppers, but I do like other peoples food when they use it. The more I cook, I am sure I will use more ingredients.

ETA: I am going to check out the food network, and check out that book. Thanks.

These r great recipes! On Food Netwrok - Semi-Homade w/ Sandra Lee is a great site that I use. & now she also has a show where she makes 2 meals w/ one cut of meat. I have a hamburger dish my family likes: Brown hamburger (or u can used ground turkey, however much u want) w/ salt & pepper, chopped onions & garlic. Drain. In casserole dish add cubed spuds (again, however many u want, I keep skins on), cr of whatever soup (mushrm, celery) again 1-2 cans depending on the amount of the other igredients & mixed vegetables (we like frozen - can use any vegetable your family likes) 1/2- 1 can milk & meat. Stir & Bake 2 hrs. 350 degrees. Serve w/ french bread or garlic toast/ Enjoy!

I dont know if you watch food network or not but there is a show called 5 ingredient fix and all her shows and recipes are online @ foodnetwork.com.....i enjoy the show and tried a few things that blew my mind they were soooo good. Do you not buy onions, peppers, and herbs due to allergy or cuz no one likes to eat them? I found that if you dice real small and cook them well in to a suace that you dont notice the flavor so much and all those things really make a dish taste great. I dont care for onions by them selves either and they have to be cooked and small for me but its worth the experiement.

I have this really good recipe my aunt came up with when experimenting for dinner ideas..
Ingredients: Smoked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, frozen hashbrowns(or hash em yourself) barbeque sauce. Its more like a casserole..you layer the 13x9 pan with the hashbrowns, barbeque sauce, then the cheese, and finally the sausage(which you cut the link in half) AND repeat til the pan is full.. Make sure you end with the hashbrowns as the topper...cook at 350degrees for about 45min-1hr....last 5 min...top with cheese.

Grocery stores usually have an abundance of rotisserie chickens around dinner time. My husband or I usually pick one up once a week on the way home from work. They are reasonably priced and ready to eat. We can usually get 2 meals out of it. You can just serve the chicken with sides like 2 veggies or bread. Another meal you can have is to put the chicken in tortillas and make your own wraps. Just put lettuce, tomato, carrots, or other salad ingredients in with it... don't forget your dressing. We like to also put Spanish rice (from a packet) blue cheese and buffalo wing sauce for a variation. We enjoy it. This way you can fix the chicken how the kids will eat it, plus fix something a little more to your tastes too. You can probably get pretty creative with this. Good luck

1 - 2lb boneless pork roast (loin, shoulder, butt - the cut doesn't really matter)

Cut up yams into 1½" cubes and lay in bottom of crock pot.
Put pork roast on top
Cover with brown sugar.
