Beef allergy?!?

I suspect my 19mth old is allergic to beef. He had skin prick done in April & is positive to wheat, egg & potato. This isn't a skin reaction tho. He seemingly gets bad tummy aches everytime he has it whether it's mince, sausages, hamburgers, steak.... He just can't settle & when he does he wakes thrashing thru the night. Does this sound like it could be? How can I get him tested? X

It sounds like it could be an allergy- regardless of tests (all can be inaccurate), I would avoid beef if you feel it is causing him problems. I would give him maybe a month or 2 without and then reintroduce it slowly and see if you see those behaviors return (assuming that they stop during the beef-free phase). Good luck and keep us posted!

it sounds like he is to me. We also belive that our daughter is. She is allergic to dairy, soy and goat. She can not cope with pear or beef as these both seem to give her a sore tummy and then she gets constipated. We stick to lamb.
The skin prick test is only good if it reviels that they have an allergy and it is only a guide. Our daughter does not show up soy on her skin prick test yet it is the one she reacts to the most. So you dont need to get him tested. If you think it is then just avoid. You know much better than any doctor. You are his mum. Trust your gut. Good luck.

Hi there, definitely sounds as if could be. My son is allergic to diary and we didnt give him beef initially as what caused his reaction in milk is in beef so we went with lamb or turkey. He is 4 soon and has beef now but for a long while we kept him off it. Not sure how to test but if he's allergic to milk more than likely beef too. Maybe test for milk allergies? Hope that helps. Our son is also allergic to wheat & eggs.
