I have never tried either, but want to hear if you have had success on either of these programs!

I posted in the thread in DM about my success with WW. 34kg (just over 75lbs) gone in 6 months. I couldnt' recommend it highly enough! It actually teaches you a new way to eat and makes you more aware of appropriate portion sizes. To me, Jenny Craig teaches you nothing, and most people I know who have lost weight on the program gain it all back once they start eating normal food again.

Because Jenny Craig is pre-packaged meals, it doesn't require any planning or decision-making. With WW, I had to do menu plans and shopping lists, then tally up my points for each meal and weigh portion sizes. It was a lot of work in the early weeks, but I soon got into a rhythm and it just became normal. Meaning that even though I am no longer doing the program, I am well aware of what size my meals should be, and what foods contain the most (often hidden) points.

So while people definitely lose weight on the program, once they go back to regular food they usually return to their old eating habits and the weight just goes straight back on.

I am new to WW! I am LOVING IT! Started January 1 and I am already down nearly 11lbs! I love it because it just holds you accountable for your food choices...you track everything, even 0 point items and it teaches you to measure what you're eating, and it makes you ask yourself "is this food worth it?" once you see the point value of some of the not-so-healthy things!

Erin, that is really interesting...I figured they all re-trained people how to eat.

Loureen, how long did it take you to lose 44lbs?

my old landlord was tiny. she was also one of the weight watcher women that runs the program (you go to class, motivates, etc) which essentially means she was successful on weight watchers in the past and got the job partly due to that. jennyc raig no clue, but buying their teeny tiny food?! I'd starve.

I've cheated and looked up all the info I can on weight watchers and use those points calculators online to help me figure out my "points". I can't afford to buy the actual programs.
