Hi ladies,

Since my Mat leave has ended but I feel it's important for me to be home with my son I've been contemplating doing some kind of direct selling. I was thinking about maybe doing Stampin' Up or something like that since I love to make cards etc and I think I'd be better at selling something I'm passionate about and I'd also have more fun with it than say pampered chef since I don't really love to cook. I'm undecided though, especially since I don't know about all the companies that would be an option for me. Could you give me some ideas/opinions? I'm located in Canada if that makes a difference.

Why not try something on your own not with a company if you are crafty there are heaps of things you can do I make hair accessories and love it, keeps me busy and makes some cash on the side so perfect for me. I am called starbubs and am on facebook if you want to have a look. I am in Aust so no competition if you want some ideas on starting up. I designed my own website with wix.com.and so have not had any start up cost except for the ribbons, clips that I buy from US and glue. Hope this gives you some inspiration.

I do Mary Kay. I find it to be great because everyone washes there face and most moisturize so you have a large client base. You also have repeat customers because they run out. For your crafty side, I have fun making gift sets and baskets. The commission is 50% and it costs $100 to join. My website is www.marykay.com/barnes if you want more information. I can also set up an informational call with myself and my director if you would like to learn even more.

Any other ideas? My mom sells avon and my cousin sells scentsy already so I've already looked at those. I'm more interested to find a company that sells craft supplies and that kind of thing. The only ones I've really heard about though are Stampin' Up and Close to my Heart. If anyone sells either of those I'd be interested to hear how easy/hard it is to do well with them too.

Hi Amanda,

I am with Avon. I am my own boss. I make my own hours, so if I have a function with my family I can attend it, and I don't have to call in sick to anyone. The starting up fee is $10 USD, it may be a bit more in Canada. The earning potential is 20-50% depending on how much you work your business. The average representative makes 40%. You may browse my website at www.youravon.com/svoelkel.

Good luck to you in whatever you decide!

Hi Amanda,

I am with an awesome company called Scentsy and they sell a wickless candle. It is not so much in the line of crafts but if you like candles, you will LOVE Scentsy. We just went into Canda on October 1st. They have a very reasonable start up fee of $99 and with that you

receive EVERYTHING that you need to be in business. They are a company of 5 years and their growth is amazing. They stand behind their product and the part I love the most is that I no longer have to worry about fire or burns from an accidental spill. You can check out my web site at www.scentsy.com/9918. I believe in network marketing and Scentsy is helping me realize both financial and time freedom.
