Anyone who can give me some advise on discipling a toddler throwing toys on the ground? I've been telling my son a thousand time not to throw his toys.

my son does this alot. i put him in time out tell him wat he has done wrong say its naughty and i don't like it when his naughty and i want him to play nicely with his toys make him stay there not for long then after that he fine. goes and plays with something else.

i take the toy and very empathetically say "oh, thats so sad. i guess this toy goes in the trash. i sure hope next time you don'ttreat your toys like garbage. its so sad when we have to throw them away." then i throw the toy in the trash, and retrieve it (and clean it) later when she's not looking and put it away for a few weeks until she's forgotten about it. she learned about the 5th time not to throw her toys. google the love and logic method - i love it. and it works. :)

when my daughter throws her toys on the ground they go in "time out" and i just take them away for a while. most of discipline at this age is redirection. maybe offer him something he can throw in a safe place and tell him " here is a ball. you can throw balls over here" and show him. i also think that no matter what age your child is you will be repeating yourself a million times a day. i still do with my 5 year old.

I think all kids go through this stage. You might just have to wait it out. Ignore him and it will get boring too him.

my son does the same thing- throws everything. i repeat myself a hundred times a day- NO THROWING! I am with you on this one- have no idea what to do!
