DS will be 10 months next week and at his check up yesterday he weighed in at just over 17 lbs which works out to the FIFTH PERCENTILE for his age. I know he's tiny, but the fifth percentile?! Just curious as to where other babes at this age are. (He came in at the 25th percentile for his height)

My 10mo old son, Colten weighs 23lbs 2oz and is 29 1/4 inches tall. At his last well baby appt. which was a week ago. which was in the 80th percentile for both.

my son was born at 5lbs, 8oz, at full term; he just turned 11 months, and weighs 24 lbs....he has always been in the 95th percentile for his height, and is into 18-24 month clothing....dr. says his weight is perfect as he has been walking up a storm since 10 months!!!! :)

my son was originally due march 24th but was early weighing only 3lbs 6oz now he is 26.5 lbs and 31.5 inches hes a big boy the doctor says I was lucky he was early lol

My lil Bee is a big boy, atleast that what me and the Dr think. He weighs 29lbs and is 29inches long. That's about a pound and inch, lol. He is my little chunk of meat!

My son went in for a appt. 2 days ago. He will be 11 months on the 25 of Feb. He is weighing 24.7 lbs. (he is in the 75th percentile on his weight).

My 11 month old weighs about 30 lbs, but he is 33 inches so he is in proportion. Future Basketballer!! Everyone thinks he looks like an 18 month old.

Matthew was 18lbs 9oz on his 9mo checkup. That was about 50th percentile, he was 8lbs 5oz when he was born. He was always about 85-90% on the chart but when he started crawling he dropped down. The Dr. isn't concerned, he is a healthy boy! My 3yr old daughter was always only in about the 10-15% when she was a baby and now at 3 she is falling right around the 50th % too! Don't worry they all grow at their own pace!

I'm kind of late here. But I just wanted to repeat what my doctor (and at least one other mother on this thread) said...that the percentiles don't really mean much until kids turn two. As long as he's on track with his curve, he's good. And if the doc didn't say that s/he was concerned, then no worries! There are actually some doctors that don't even tell the percentages because they don't want to freak out the parents.... :-)

My baby is ten kilos I think thats 20 pounds. She is very tall and in perfect perportion. She was big at birth though 9pounds so she is in the top percentile for all her measurements. She is 80cm if not more now.

Shauna~ I also have a 25 month old at home and he only weighs 20 lbs. He was a preemie and has always been small. The doctors say as long as he is eating and drinking then he is fine. Also they say genetics are kicking in. He is proportioned ok. They say as long as the baby is getting the right nutrients/fat then it is fine just don't over feed them. Don't worry he will be fine.

My girl at 8mths was 21.5 lbs and is in the 90th percentile for her age. But i do have to question where they get these states from. My son was a 10 pound baby and because of this stayed up at the 95th percentile till he was around 6mths and then started to thin out. He was also really tall at 23.5 inches when he was born, when he got to 12mths his weight was in the 60th percentile and his heigth stayed in the 95th, the doctors then were wanting to know why his weight was slowing down and were concerned about developmemnt ( he walked at 7mth!) and wanted to know what i was feeding him! i was like are you kidding me! if he had stayed on the track to his weight always being in the 95th i would have an obese child! i say as long as your baby is happy heathy and developing like he should dont even stress!

my son is 10 months and he weighs between 22-25 lbs. when we went to the dr on 12/30 she said he is in the 95%. and is 31 inches long..he is getting to tall for me to carry and caress comfortably its hard..but on the up side my arms are getting a workout lol.

At her appointment two days before she turned 10 months old she weighed 20 lbs and was 29 inches long... She's in the 60% for weight and she is in the 95% for height.

My boy is 11 months and he weighs about 22 lbs. he was born at 8 lbs 13 oz. He's always been only average for weight. His height... he's always around 95% percentile. No one is really worried since he started crawling at 5.5 months.... but as soon as he turned 10 months, i changed his eating schedule which really started packing on the pounds... 7 am breakfast with 8 oz of milk (breast or formula) then 9 am snack (raisin bread toast with 4 oz of milk, or banana or cereal bars for babies...) then nap from 9:30 - 11. 11:30 lunch.. 8 oz plus whatever looks good (soup, sandwich, pasta, etc...) 1:30 - 3 nap, 3 pm snack usually he'll eat an entire avocado or some crackers, banana, another 4 oz of milk and then dinner.. whatever we're eating and another 8 oz of milk.
he hates baby food from the jar and he's lactose intolerant so .. I try to have him eat as balanced as possible. he loves to eat... LOL.

y daughter Amirah went to the dr last week. She weighs 16 lbs 12 oz and is 28.5 inches. My dr told me to feed her as much as she wants. She was born at 6 lbs even. She's average about 1 lb 1 oz a month.

My son just weighed in at 16 lbs 15 oz, and is 28 inches long. He's third percentile in weight, and 25th in height. His doctor was very concerned at his last appointment as he was off the chart in weight (didn't gain anything that month) - but has since gained a pound over the last month. He's very active (he's full on walking now) and eats constantly; I've started to add extra calories where I can (whipping cream with his oatmeal, avocados with cream cheese on toast, etc.) and feel content with where he's at - overall, he's healthy and happy and on the go. Don't fret - your son will catch up.

My 10 month old Tylar was 24 lbs at 9 months, so my guess would be around 25-26lbs. I hope he starts walking soon because he is sure getting heavy to carry around. He was 8 lbs 13 ozs at birth

My little girl turned 10 months on the 22nd. She still weighs a little less than 16 lbs. She eats like its going out of style, and still nurses well -- she's just a petite skinyata! However, both my husband and I were teeny tiny children, so I am not terribly surprised. (Plus, i looked it up in my baby book, and I weighed the same at this age.)
In fact, when we went for her 9 month check up, she'd actually lost about half a pound. But her pediatrician saw how very very active she was, and that I was also tiny, and that she'd still gotten taller, so he wasn't worried. (I still added an extra nursing session anyway.) I've watched her go down in percentile at each check-up: at 4 months, I was floored to hear that MY daughter was in the 75th %ile for anything, let alone height... But she's since bottomed out.
If you think about it, this is the time when some babies will start to shed that pudginess. They're crawling, pulling up on everything, and maybe even trying to walk -- they're burning up a lot more calories than ever before!! So it's not surprising for a baby at this age to slow down in weight gain.
Shauna, as long as he's thriving in other areas, he should be fine. Is he eating well, getting taller (even relatively speaking), and reaching other developmental milestones? Each child is different, and as long as he is healthy, I wouldn't worry too much about his size. :o)

my son weighed in at 9 1/2 months at 22 pounds. he is in the 90th percentile. but if you and your mate are not huge people then dont expect for son to be with other kids. As long as you are feeding him the daily recommended 24 ounces of formula and at least three jars a day or baby food he should be fine.I am 5'10 and my husband is 6'5 so i guess thats why Cj is up there in weight and height.

My son was 22 lbs, 7 oz last week and he was 30 inches tall at his 9 month well-baby checkup. He's 95th percentile for height and 85th for weight. Everyone looks at him like he should be doing more because they think he's older... when we tell them he's only 10 months old, they are usually pretty shocked.

My daughter just went to her 10 month check up also and she weighed in at the 15 percentile for height and weight at a whooping 17lbs 10 oz's. I know that she is little and thats fine with me. The Dr. said that because she is in proportion that it is nothing to worry about. But if her height was very different form her weight then they would take notice. I love her being small it feels like she will be a baby longer that way.

My son is 10mth old and he weighted in at 16lb, he is also in the 5th % for his age, but off the chart for his height. My pederician sent us for bloodwork and a sweet test to make sure there is nothing slowing his growth. So far most of the test results are in and he is healthy.

Julian was born on March 25th but wasn't due until April 9th. Born 8lbs 5oz 21 1/2 inches. At his 9 month check up he was 27 lbs 6 oz 31 1/2 inches! Im sure he close to 29 now and almost 33 inches!

My daughter, Addisyn, is 10 months old (jan 29th) and she weighs 24lbs and is 29 inches long. She was born 7lbs 11 1/2 ounces and she was like 20 1/2 inches long. Since she started moving a lot, she has only gained a lb since her last checkup a 2 or 3 months ago. Shes very active!..Cant wait til we can go to whole milk though. :) She would rather have our food but she deals w/ the baby food and formula.

My son is 10 months and only 16lbs 1 oz and 271/2 inches. My DR said to give him as much formula as he'll drink. He drinks it outof a sippy cup now. Plus she said to give him stuff like casseroles with creamy soups in them. She said pretty much to feed him all the things that we think are too fattening for us. I was little as a kid and so was my husband. He is crawling and trying to walk. My DR said as long as he is healthy then it's ok. Plus his hight is getting taller so she thinks his weight will catch up. He was only 5lbs 11 oz and 21in at birth.
