My son is 13 1/2 months old and will not drink from a sippy cup. He will drink out of a 'big kid' cup if we help him or his bottle. Does any one have advice on how to get him to drink from a sippy cup or should I just let him use the bottle?

They have sippy cups with straws that are also spill proof. If he likes drinking from a straw I highly recommend them. My 13mo old loves them and has been using them since he was 6mos old! They are made by Munchkin.

I Breastfeed my son and I looked for sippy cups that were soft and was bpa free so I saw that Gerber had sippy cups that were soft and was like a mothers nipple but good enuf to change from a bottle as well and I gave all his bottles away and started him on the soft top gerber sippy cups then I wold graduate him to bigger and other types of sippys now if he needs a dring he just takes what ever sippy is around and drinks from it! It is very hard and STRESSFUL But dont give up! Just let him get to the point were he is just so hungry or thirsty that He is forced to try the sippy out and see how it goes from there! Hope my advice works! Let me know how it goes!!

My son is the same. He will drink out of his bottle and any cup we drink out of ( with help ofcourse), But the sippy cup he throws it, or turns it upside down and plays with it.

I don't know if I should even bother anymore at this point?

We had the same problem!! With our son he got sooo fustrated because he couldn't suck out the milk.... and when I tried it was tough! so we slit the sippy cups to make it easier... once he realized he could suck easier, he was ok with it....
when he got used to it, we bought 2 more and only slit them half way.... then bought more and only slightly slit them.....
Now he's using them unslit....
-- we also started putting milk in the sippys and only water in the bottles, to encourage the change over.
Took us about weeks or so... and before that we bought like 6 different kinds.... and tried everything!!

Best of luck!!
