"Parents as Teachers"/ your child

Not sure how it is outside the U.S., but we have a program called Parents as Teachers where a teacher comes to people's houses and teaches parents and evaluates the children/screens them to see where the child is developmentally wise in all areas... and checks their vision, ears, etc. Developmentally wise... that is fine motor, gross motor, visual, etc... my son ranges to be that of a 14-18 months old. all the things he is doing now are things that are average for a 14-18 month old to pick up. he was crawling at 6 months, walking at 8 months, and can say a lot of words. I'm very proud of him for doing so well at his screening, but i was wondering if that might possibly be "too" advanced? DO you think it would hurt him in the future years speeding up so much???

I was wondering if any of you have a baby who is at that developmental stage or have had a baby so advanced in those areas as well in the past?

I haven't done that screening with my son, but he sounds just about where your son is at. Crawling at 5 months, vocabulary of 18 words and understands many more, and took his first step at 9 months old. I don't think there is anything wrong with being intelligent and ''advanced''. I think our sons will have an advantage in their future years :)
