This is really helpful, I've been trying to figure out since he was four months when he would be ready! I guess I just need to give him more opportunity because he is very good with his hands!!

My son has been on a sippy since around 3 1/2 months old, he is 6mo now and dont want a bottle anymore we just put his milk in his sippys and he walks around the house in the walker drinking his milk! He feels like mr. big stuff when i hand it to him... the funny thing is he never wanted to hold his bottle on his own but when we started offering the sippy he was more that happy to use it! Just keep giving it to the child till they figure it out!

agree w/ Katrine...get the Nuk Learner cup. I tried the Nuby w/ my 6 month old put the juice comes out too fast for him. The Nuk learner cup comes out a bit slower.

go to babies r us or to their web site. Look up Tommee Tippee sippy cups. they have ones to get them started as well as to grow with. they are new. Some say to actually put a lil water in it and let them play with it as they get familiar with it they will start to suck on it. But the have a starter sippy cup that looks almost like a bottle

I have a 6month old too and he is a pro at using the sippy cup. There are sippy cup that have handles that come from the bottom to make it easier for them to hole and soft tops. I would suggest the Nuk sippy cup to start yur baby off with.
