I agree.. We first attempted the sippy cups with the soft tips and my daughter hated it. Then I bought the graduate's first sippy cups for 7+ months and she loves it. She was about 6 or 7 months. Now she is 8 months (as of yesterday) and we cant get it away from her. She prefers drinking cold juice or cold water out of it and like someone mentioned she uses it as a teething toy. She sits with it and scratches her gums. So just attempt different things and you will figure out what her his preferences are.

My daughter was also born on MArch 26th as the lady above me! I tried using the silicone ones and she just chewed on them. I got her the ones a step above that are a little harder and she drinks from them everyday now.

my daughter self weaned with her paci at 3 months, thank god!! i tried the playtex sippy's they have the "my first sipster" and she hated it, it seemed to hard to get anything out of it so i tried the cheap munchkin ones & she loves them! she was born march 26th & for the last 3 weeks she's been drinking water from one everyday & sometimes she'll even have some formula from one

to get her use to the cup i would just put some cold water in it and she would chew on it since she's teething & next thing i knew she was drinking from it once she realized something was in the cup! there is no real trick, just keep trying different ones, he'll find one he likes

I have come to realize that; babies prefer certain things just like we do.

My son did not take a pacifier until he was 4months…because he did not like the ones we were using, after trying, searching, I finally found a shape he liked….

He would not take a bottle (I breastfeed 89-90% of the time) and so after many bottles I finally found a shape that matched the shape of his pacifier and now he likes the bottle, but still prefers the breast…

He took to a sippy cut, long before the took to a bottle…

I think you just have to try different ones out…
