Stretch marks

Well, i've had these all pregnancy because my two were close together, they never had a chance to fade, I feel like a red striped Zebra. Last time I had no stretch marks at all until 2 days before I was due, they exploded then, there were tons, it happened overnight and I was sooo dissapointed. This time they just came back, are nice bright and cherry red.

All thgose photos of people with nice stretch mark-free bellies make me jealous, but for others in my shoes or that HAVE been in my shoes, any hints to get them to go away faster? I'll be starting up a fitness routine about 8-10 weeks after delivery and I hope to get rid of the loose skin AND the stretch marks fast, since the hubby says we're not having a third.. ;(

With my first I didn't get any stretch marks until AFTER I gave birth, I was thinking how lucky I was not to get any and boom they appeared. This time I haven't gotten and new ones yet, my old ones are still there but they've faded over the years. I don't how or if you're able to get rid of them once you get them.

I tried moisturizing a couple of times a day with #1 and #2 using palmers tummy butter, but still got stretch marks over my hips and belly. I did have some significant fading between #1 and #2, but nothing I tried made them go away completely. My doc says it's biological - if you're going to have stretch marks, you're going to have them :) Oh I hear fish oil helps the skin regenerate, so if you are not already on a regimen of fish oil during your pregnancy, you may ask your dr about that after your pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy taking fish oil, so I don't know how it is going to help the skin healing process after the pregnancy, though.

With my first pregnancy I used Palmers cocoa butter for strech marks only on my belly becuase that's where I thought that they would appear. I don't have any on my belly, however I have them on my theights, hips, bottom and boobs. So the areas that also grew and that I did not put the lotion on. With this pregnancy I have been putting the lotion on all of the growing areas and so far so good and my belly still does not have any.

i believe if you are meant to get them you will get them.. i used special cream all throughout my pregnancy and i still got them.

I used cocoa butter the whole time and they still happened though the cocoa butter seemed to reduce them because mine arent as bad as I have seen them on women . I thought it would bug me if I got them but I dont mind I am realizing its just a part of being a mother and they will fade over time.

I have stretch marks on my hips from my first pregnancy and i didnt get those until the last few weeks either. I remember getting ready for bed and my husband looked at my hip and with a sympathetic look said "oh babe"....i was not happy. This time i thought there is no way i can get more but the funny thing is that a few on my sides are getting longer....i keep saying that my stretch marks have stretch marks! I put cocoa butter on all the time and it doesnt help except with itching. I think its just your genetics. My mom had them with me so i guess i never really had a chance. =)

keeping your skin moisturized is the only option really I have not gotten any from my current pregnancy but with my daughter my belly looked like a road map and I too had babies close in age so there wan't much fading. I use Bio Oil and it actually seems to work there are also other oils out there that will help you to reduce the appearance. but like I said it's really about the moister. Genetics kinda screwed up with us I guess because they say that stretch marks are pretty much genetic. I gained A LOT of weight with my daughter and this time too because I have Pre Eclampsia and I gain water weight REALLY fast I gained 20 lbs in one weekend when I was pregnant before. so I have them i'm my elbow's and everywhere. let me know if you find a better solution then moister.

Hey. I'm pregnant with my first baby and I was lucky enough not to have any stretch marks until they suddenly appeared yesterday. I'm 36 weeks pregnant now and thought I'd got away with being stretch mark free... but oh no! They're quite nasty looking and purple in colour. I rub oil into my belly every day, but clearly it's not helping =( I did cry when I saw them, but at the end of the day, they are a souvineer and a reminder that I created life and grew a life inside me, so one day, I know I'll look at them and feel so proud. It also helps knowing that I'm not the only one =) Thank you ladies xxx

I got loads with my first and they faded but are still visible, they seem to be coming back but what the heck it's all part of being pregnant, unfortunately but I know how you feel.

I consider them to be my tiger stripes and I've earned them. I did find that vitamin E cream does fade them a bit and exercise as well because it tightens the skin. I don't really have them on my belly but they are on my buttocks and thighs. Good luck!

I am one of those people that have the nice stretch mark free belly for both of my pregnancies. I have heard though that coco butter lotion works to help further prevent stretch marks. But once you get them, you are more or less stuck with them.

Hello, I didn't get stretch marks until a couple weeks ago and they get worse every day...and mine are purple! Yuck. I hear there isn't much you can do to get rid of them,u can make them lighter so they are not as noticeable. Tanning can make them lighter and there are certain lotions that reduce the appearance. I have used Nivea skin firming lotion and seems to help some.

Hope this was helpful...
