The Greatest Inventions! Without them, I'm not sure where my sanity would be...

1. The Swing
This gives me at least a few minutes to do the endless piles of laundry and dishes, and entertains, if not puts the baby to sleep with its rocking and music. Mine also comes equipped with nature sounds which may be handy later on...

2. The Snugli (or baby harness/carrier)
The baby loves to be against my body, but I certainly can't hold him all day. When he's fussy, I put him in the snugli and walk around for a few minutes, he calms down, if not falls asleep for as long as I choose to wear it.

3. The Car seat
The baby slept in the car seat for the first three weeks of his life, as he wouldn't sleep in the bassinet. And he still won't sleep on his back, so this is a good alternative.

4. The stroller
The baby is quiet in the stroller, if not sleeping, so long as it's in motion. I can simply rock it back and forth with my foot to put him to sleep.

5. The pacifier
For breastfeeding moms, this is almost essential. My baby likes to suck, but I can't breast feed him all day. When he's had his fill, the pacifier gives him something to suck on and he ultimately falls asleep.

Anyone have any other great inventions that I should try out?

Saucer toys...My son lived in his when I got things done around the house. He loved it!! We called it his "office" and he had to put in his time at "work". It grew with him for height. Then when he got too tall to sit in it, he stood outside of it and still played with the toys on it.
Bumbo chair...You can also get a tray to go with it to put toys on. This way they can sit up. You can also use it when you start to feed them cereals.
I love the pacifier/NUK, swing, and snuggli.

a good swaddling blanket, things to attach to the bar of the car seat ( i also attach these to his gym so that it adds a variety), and i made flash cards of objects in black and white and then colored them in that fully entertain my son. He does not like a pacifier, nor any kind of carrier. i tried a sleepy wrap, which is like a moby, and a baby bjorn, and a regular sling BUT he did not want any part of it same with the swing. a vibrating bouncey seat with a bar (once again to attach other things)is a savior. Crock pot is a must- i have found it hard to manage making a meal, bath and bedtime routine all at the same time.
This is great to read what others like, because at time i wonder if i am doing all this right!

the boppy pillow. Its great not only for bottle feeding but for tummy time, sleep time when were not around his bassinet. And even great for mommy when she needs an extra pillow. The way i sleep it fits perfectly around my neck. (of course when no baby is in it) also the diaper genie it gets rid of the smell of poopy diapers and keeps the house cleaner.. i only have to take out one bag of dirty diapers. And the big screen TV... for my son loves to sit in his swing and watch the colors, along with his playmat that has a mirror on it.. anything to keep him up in the day.
My favorite has got to be the bottles we got from our baby shower that have the nipples like the pacis the hospital gives out.. He loves them and no nipple confusion.

The Ergo baby Carrier. IT was and is my life saver. It is easy to adjust, Front, back or hip carrier. And is WAY comfy to wear.

My Freezer. I make meals ahead and freeze them. When I make soup or spagetti sauce, I make a huge batch, portion it out and freeze it. I also do the same with Shepards Pie and other casseroles. I make them up in disposable pans, freeze them and then vacuum seal them up. When the kids are being really rough on my nerves and dinner just isnt coming to me, I can take something out and pop it in the over.

Crock Pot. there is nothing like coming home from a Dr Appt or a big day of shopping and having dinner already done. 10 mins of prep and just turn it on.

Play-pen (portable crib) We do a lot of traveling and camping, this is a life saver for me.

The sleep sheep! You can attatch it to any car seat play pen crib etc and they come in an assortment of noises. From water noises to mommys heart beat! Perfect for those odd times when munchkin wont go down or wakes up in the middle of a nap/night time

Dr browns formula mixer. If youre feeding formula, you can make a days worth,it seals and has a pump to mix. That way you dont mix air bubbles into the formula. Has a no spill spout and measurements on the side.

Vibrating chair. Has soothing vibrations, has a kickstand so you can recline it for quick nap times but can also be used as a toddlers chair

And im pretty sure every mom out there is in love with her baby monitor. Gives piece of mind to us first timers and ur able to walk around the house knowing you can still hear everything

Activity blanket! It's great for tummy time or when laying on their back so they can swing at the toys hanging over them. My little guy will hang out on his for 30-45 minutes.
