Anyone else's baby still not use a blanket?

My son just turned a year old and he still does not use a blanket. We hadn't given him one because, him being our first, I was always paranoid about everything. Then as he got older, he was a very difficult sleeper. Now that he is 1, he's finally starting to sleep better (although he still wakes up once a night for a bottle). I hadn't introduced him to a blanket because he is very prone to distractions. Basically, if anything distracts him, he stops eating or fights sleep. I was afraid if I tried to introduce a blanket to him while we were having so many sleeping issues with him, that it would just distract him from sleep even more...and I REALLY needed him to sleep. Now that he is a better sleeper and I don't have to worry about SIDS anymore, I want to give him a blanket. But, I'm afraid something new in the crib will distract him from sleep. He's never had anything in there with him. Has anyone else held off on introducing a blanket to their babies?

My son won't use a blanket either. He kicks it off of him when he's awake and asleep. I just have to keep the house warm or dress him he warm clothes at home, BUT curiously enough. He started daycare last week and when I walked in to pick him up, he was sleeping with a blanket on him . . . hmmm . . .

We are like Krista, our baby just sleeps in a gro bag (like a sleep sack) so no blankets here either. They just kick them off anyway, thats why I like gro-bags!

With my oldest, he never got a blanket until he turned two and moved into an actual bed. My 1 year old still doesn't have a blanket, but I use sleep sacks. They're great because they can't pull them over their faces or kick them off. You can find lots of brands, but I like the Halo ones.

I always had a blanket on the crib rail, just for looks mainly. She had toys in her crib with her. But we used to live in an attic that got no heat in the winter (30 degrees some nights) After awhile I put a blanket on her and she just kicked it off within an hour or so. Now she is 16 months and if she gets cold, she gets up and grabs a blanket. Otherwise, he doesn't need one until he can keep it on him, if he gets chilled easily try to layer clothes instead.
