When I was pregnant with my son, we didn't know the gender so we did the nursery shades of green, beige and light blue winnie the pooh. We figured we would reuse everything with future children. So when we found out we were pregnant again, we started planning on making our guest room into our son's new big boy room. Well, I got so excited making his fire fighter dream room that when we found out we were having a girl, I had to redo the nursery too!

So our daughter (due any day now) will be coming home to a bubble gum pink and lime green ballerina room. I know that sounds crazy, but it is so gorgeous! I didn't want to do it too "baby" ish, even though of course she is a baby. I wanted it to be something she would be happy with for a while and not have to re-do it again in 3 years. We even hung some mirrors and a ballet bar. I figure babies like looking at themselves in mirrors, and the bar will help when she is learning to pull up and stand.

I love it :)

Ours is a green jungle room with a huge floor to ceiling mural on the wall, dark wooden furniture and lots of stuffed animal toys.

I'm 36 weeks and we're not quite there yet with our daughter's room. Some things will definitely only arrive post-baby... But it is looking very pretty - turqouise, white and a touch of scarlet. It's our first, so I splurged on re-painting, re-upholstering and a few new things. I'm so glad I did. Decided to go pre-owned on stroller, breast pump and a few of the other expensive items to make up for it :)

Would love to hear what everyone else has done/is doing.

WIth our first we were able to go all out with the baby room and it was sooooo fun. This time around we're in the middle of renovating a house we bought and trying to sell the one we're in. This baby will share our room until we're ready to move into the new house. We're hoping to be in by July. THEN we can go all out on the new room for baby!

I wish I could set up a babies room! With my first we were rennovating the condo we bought, so we stayed with my Dad the first month. Her room is really just a sitting room off of ours, and while we did a little to it, we didnt go all out. We are still in our 1 bedroom condo. We aren't moving because my husband as been accepted to Penn State for his MBA so we are moving up there in July/August. We are going to do our best to manage in our 1 bedroom condo with 2 little ones for 4 months. If it ends up being too much we will just go move back in with my dad- who has 3 extra bedrooms. But even then I wont be able to really decorate until we move!
