I did the same as Kathy Blevins, it was a very nice day outside and i just let him go naked. with the potty close by. and told him when u have to go this is were big boys go. he pee'd down his leg and that scared him and ever since then hes went in the potty. and knock on wood he has been pottty trained just over a year with only one accident YAY :-D good luck...

I'm having issues with this as well. My son is fine when he sits on the potty with his diaper on, but when we take it off he cries. . . I'm not sure what to do

I agree with all of these. Stickers for pee pee; Stamps (on their arm) for poo poo; although we eventually have stepped up to "lollipops" for going poo. We got the dum dums (the smallest lollipop we could find). The stamps, in the beginning, are good, because everytime someone in the family sees that he has a stamp on his arm, they can praise him and make a big deal out of it.

Cheerios and Froot loops is definitely a tried and true method. My mother and Grandmothers used this technique for boys. I know it worked for my boys. But if at all possible let the father show him how to go like a big boy. They also seem to like that. The problem will be with the adult male not being comfortable with being watched.

cherios in the toilet hep them learn to aim, i also used sticker chart and surprises when he was doing really good. I also kept him in big boy undies, it seems to make them realize when they are wet. it's my daughter now that i'm having the issues with lol

I gave up on the "tricks". I just let him pick out big boy undies and told him to keep them clean use the big boy potty. and when he had an accident I would remind him he was getting his undies all dirty and big boys don't do that. I did a lot of laundry but after a few days of wetting himself he started using it. then i would only use a diaper at night or if we were leaving the house for long periods of time. then I slowly stopped doing that. stick with it. they will have accidents and good days and bad days. just stick with it and don't get mad. he will get it.

I let my sons be naked at home and had a potty in the living room. Eventually they decided to use it. My May baby, my 3rd boy, potty trained himself by watching his big bros. The treats did not work for my older 2 sons, so I never tried it with my little man.

i toilet trained my son with a sticker chart and a surprise box. each time he went to the toilet he got a sticker on his chart wen he got 5 stickers he got to choose something out of his surprise box. first he used the potty but then went on to the toilet, i put a ping pong ball in the toilet n got him to aim for it, when u flush the toilet the ping pongball dosnt flush it stays afloat!!!
