My 10 month old daughter has a little cradle cap on the top of her head. How do I get rid of it?

Try moistorizing shampoo, and masage it on the scalp. Wash the hair a little more often than your normally do, and do extra masaging in the area that has cradle cap. Are you sure that it is cradle cap, and not just dry skin? My son has issues with dry skin and we have to use a lot of moistorizing soaps, lotions, and Rx creams. Also if your little one doesn't have a lot of hair, try rubbing lotion on the affected area.

Put baby oil, or any other kind-of oil on the cradle cap and let it sit for a while and then use your baby comb to comb it out!

I out olive oil on my daughters head and put a hat on her so it wouldn't make a mess and after about an hour or so I brushed out the flakes and it hasnt come back

We tried everything from baby oil and rubbing with a soft brush to special cradle cap shampoo and nothing worked. My daughter's doctor told me to use a little selsun blue dandruff shampoo so I gave it a shot. I used it 3 or 4 times and the cradle cap was gone. That was 6 months ago, I haven't had to use that shampoo again and the cradle cap hasn't come back.

I've used the olive oil/baby oil as well and a small toothed comb to deal with the flakes.

Hello Jennifer

Well my son had a little cradle cap and what my mum suggested was wash the hair with a small amount of shampoo preferably the johnsons & johnsons top to toe wash and then dry the hair as best as what you can and use either the johnsons and johnsons baby oil or olive oil from the pharmacy we did it with Tristan and it went away within a week and between the washes just keep rubbing baby oil/olive oil onto the scalp to keep it from drying out and so far touch wood its not come back, good luck.
